I have always been a lover of things unique and different. I’ve never liked anything that is just plain boring and I guess that is the reason I never really liked umbrellas. There is nothing original about a black and boring umbrella. There usually are not many options either. So even though I live in Florida and yes it can rain any minute here I did not own an umbrella. I love rain, so I could never understand why the designs for umbrellas are so sad!
One weekend I was sitting in front of my computer looking for some rain clothes for the bug when I found a website for umbrellas……Cheeky Umbrella. The Cheeky umbrellas are definitely not a sad design; the cheeky umbrellas are actually cheerful and fun. Each Cheeky Umbrella has black fabric with bright, funky designs on the outside and colorful fabric on the inside. Their umbrellas also have a charming black hook handle, a chic silver pushbutton and a matching silver snap on the closure strap. They are so absolutely out of the ordinary and they all have a little saying in the inside that is just funny and ingenious.
It takes a person with a lot of creativity and imagination to make something as boring as umbrella into something sassy and fun and that is exactly what Jen Zurowski did with her Cheeky Umbrella store. Before moving to the rainy city of Vancouver, BC on the west coast Canada, she didn’t even own an umbrella. After realizing that there was not one that would stand for the wind and rain and at the same time reflect her style and personality, the idea for the Cheeky Umbrella was born!

One of the good things about living in Florida is that the swimming pool is appealing almost all year around. It has been so hot lately , that we are spending a good amount of time in the pool. Besides, daddy is still teaching the ladybug how to swim ….She is doing awesome by the way ( mommies pride talking).
But since we are at the pool so often I have been looking for bathing suits for the ladybug. I was looking at a few different websites and came across a really cute bathing suit in the Kushies website. They have an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to disposables (which are painfully expensive)!
Their swim diaper is made with a quick drying nylon outer shell with a 100% cotton terry inner lining that is very soft. The bathing suit is very easy to get on and off .It has a wrap style design that makes it a lot easier if you need to change your little mermaid. It also has an adjustable waist for added ties which provides a really good fit.
They have some really cute prints and two different designs; one is just the bottom part, like a swim diaper and the other one is a little halter that ties in the back.
The prices on these swimsuits are unbeatable; the halter one sells for only 12.99 and the swim diaper sells for on the Kushies website for only 10.99.
When I received the bathing suits (one of each style) I was really excited because I really liked the prints and the designs when I saw it on line. But I had a little disappointment as the swimsuits were not the right size for the bug but I didn’t realize this until after I opened them up so I could not return them. My bad luck is one of your guy’s good luck.

Simply Floored. Is a gluten-free cleaning product , not tested on animals and it can be used on hardwood, tile, marble, bamboo, vinyl, laminate and other sealed floors. Most of my house is carpeted except for the bathrooms, kitchen and the entrance hall. I am in the kitchen on a daily basis and it can get very messy, so I have been using the simply floored for those constant spills on the kitchen and I really like the way it works. It keeps the floor shiny and the best part is that I know that I am not using something that could be toxic in the same place I cook for the family. And the Simply Floored can be used with a dry mop or Cloth so is perfect for quick clean ups.
What- EVER This all porpoise cleaner is just what I needed for my kitchen counter top. Got the Clary and Sage Citrus Scent which is a really clean scent and is also very light ( I ‘m very sensitive to smell and strong smells give me a sore through and headache in no time). But this is a very nice and not invasive smell , that will get the area clean and smelling like a dream , so you can really feel that the cleaning is getting done. My only complaint about it is that the fragrance doesn’t last too long, but that would be too much to ask wouldn’t it?
I Can See Clearly WOW.
This is probably my favorite product. I have a glass top table on the dining room, a glass top table on the living room and sliding doors that covers the 75% of my balcony wall, and that faces the sea.
The ladybug dumps all kinds of sticky things on both tables and I get the little hand prints on the sliding door not to mention the sea spray on the other side. I could not believe how good the I Can See Clearly WOW works , it got rid of all the sticky non identified stuff my daughter put in the tables, the little hand prints and even the sea spray. This scent free glass cleaner works great and the fact that it is non toxic is just a great relief. The ladybug follows me while I clean to “help me” with the cleaning .So knowing that this will not harm her is just a great feeling.
Even The kitchen Sink.
I have the double stainless steel sink in the kitchen which is cute, but as all stainless steel, it can also be a lot of work! I had been looking for something to restore its original shine and had tried a few different products without going crazy with the results.
I used the Even the Kitchen Sink Scrubber and love it! I used it to clean the right side sink and not on the left side to see if I could tell the difference, and yes…. I can tell the difference!
The right side looks more shiny and clean that the left side.
They say you can use this product on tubs, tile and grout, toilet bowls, shower doors, stovetops, glass cooktops , stainless steel sinks, porcelain, ceramic, enamel, stone, cultured marble, non-polished solid countertops, and laminate. I have only tried it on the sink right now, but planning on use it for some other areas of the house.
Twist Loofah Sponge. First thing I have to say is that I LOVE the Loofah sponges , is the best thing you can use to polish your skin and I love that they use it on kitchen sponges!
The Twist Loofah Sponge from clean happens is a double sided sponge with Loofah in one side and very absorbent sponge on the oter side that works great to clean not spills and little accidents on the kitchen and the Loofah side is perfect for when you need more scrubbing power:) .
Euro Sponge. I have seen something like it but not quite while I was living in Spain which I used for everything and was a permanent item on my groceries shopping list. The one big difference is that this one is biodegradable and can be converted in to a little bird feeder (that is something I want to know how to do)!
And last but not least, all the products come in a collapsible six-compartment cleaning caddy awesome for storage your products and keep them organized.
One last thing I have to say about the Clean Happens Products is that I think their spray bottles are awesome, and really well made! (I hate it when I am cleaning and all of the sudden my spray bottle stops working…ARG).

The worst thing that a parent could go through is losing a child. I can’t even start to imagine how hard that has to be and I pray to God I never need to find out!
A friend of mine recently lost his baby girl and it is just such a hard situation that I didn’t even know how to let him know that I was there for him and his wife if they needed a friend.

When I started to browse their website, I realized how sweet their pieces are; the different charms and jewelry are customized to represent your story with Engraved Personalization to make it intimate. Many grieving parents and relatives desire a tangible way to keep their child with them. Seeing the child's name in print brings comfort and peace to many. It is a visual remembrance of the child you are honoring by wearing one of our jewelry designs.
Looking through their site and reading some of the information they provide made me realized that they were my best option to get this friends a special little something to honor their baby girl.
I spent a good amount of time trying to find that special piece for my friend and I saw this adorable silver key chain that has a tiny pair of feet inside of a circled ring and you can read: ( Our Angel ) on the front side and inside the ring…..A small heart with a pair of tiny feet engraved. On a good note , my friends just had their second baby girl that just came to this world and is the love and reason to her parents!
I was curious on how someone will come up with this line of business and I learned that Susan the mind and heart behind my Forever Child has lost a baby herself:
Susan and Richard Mosquera's third child, Matthew Kristopher, was stillborn two weeks before his due date in 2002. A complete placental abruption took his life and nearly his mother's. Quick acting doctors and generous blood donations helped Susan to pull through. They left the hospital with empty arms and broken hearts. It took several months to recover physically, but much longer emotionally to rise above the unbearable grief.
They soon learned that pregnancy and infant loss occurs far too frequently, and yet shockingly not enough is known or done to prevent it. There is also the cultural pressure to forget about the loss and move on, so many bereaved parents suffer in silence. There are numerous wonderful items available for the birth of a baby. But sadly, barely any comfort items available when a child dies. Particularly with miscarriage and stillbirth, there are few, if any, momentos to remember the child by. The family is left to search for or create their own memorial tributes.
The healthy birth of their subsequent son was bittersweet. It brought joy and happiness back into the family. But it also became painfully clear what they were robbed of by Matthew's death. It was then that Susan decided to be proactive and make a difference somehow.

Dear husband and I have been talking about doing a game night where we can sit and spend some time together (relax a little and have some fun). Finding something that we can both enjoy is another thing. I really don’t like most of the board games we have in the house, so I was trying to find some other games that we could both play and enjoy.

Jishaku, Japanese for magnet, uses finely polished hematite magnets for playing pieces. The primary ore in Jishaku magnets is hematite. Ancient history tells that highly trained individuals such as Samurai, Ninja’s and high priests could alter their personal magnetic fields and ultimately the magnetic fields of items around them. Jishaku became a training tool for those willing to focus their minds to alter the forces of nature!
There are several variations of the game but the most popular is "I'm Out". While alternating turns with your opponent(s), the goal of the game is to place magnets onto the game base - without letting any magnets connect.
If any magnets connect on your turn, you must collect those magnets and add them to your pile. The first person to run out of magnets wins.
But there is a twist. All magnets have North and South poles. Jishaku magnets do too. They just aren't marked. So as you carefully place your magnet in a hole you can feel the tug of magnets all around the board. Skilled players learn to use magnetic force in their favor- repelling the magnets closest to them without forcing them into other magnets.
When I first saw the game on line I thought that it might be a fun thing to try, well that is an understatement! We both love the game and I have been trying to win ever since I got it……Reality is that I have not been able to win a single match, but I still enjoy trying :)
The game looks really simple and it is, but it is also very exciting. It gets your adrenalin pumping as you try to get the right spots for your pieces and when you get to close you can see the magnets moving and when they do get connected the actually jump!
This is a great game to have for parties where you are having friends over and want some kind of games and entertainment. This game will for sure win everybody’s attention! I got my first pair of glasses when I was six and have been through several pairs ever since.
Glasses can get really expensive and if you go with the upgrades… We are easily talking about 500.00. I paid close to 300.00 dollars for my last pair and that was with the insurance covering 40% of the cost!
Well a few months after I got my glasses, the ladybug got a hold of them and let’s just say that they were not in one piece after she was done with them. The lenses were still good so all I needed was a new pair of frames. I went to the same place I got them from the first time and the frames alone were over 200.00 dollars.
So I went on the internet and started looking for other places that have the same frames. I paid about 150.00 for the new frames.

Personalized handmade … I just can’t have enough of those and I am always looking for new products that are cute and outstanding.
I came across a really cute store a few weeks ago. Julianne originals is a mom made business that specializes in handmade goodies for kids such as monogrammed Beach Towels, Burp Cloths, Chenille Bibs , Infant Gowns and lot of other adorable personalized items .
Julie the owner and designer behind Julianne Originals is a sewing experienced mom that after her first son was born decided to use the experience she has into creating beautiful items for little ones.
Her designs are not only extremely cute, but they are also very original and unique.
I received a personalized Tee for the ladybug that has her name in the front of the Tee. The Name is made with very tiny flowers print fabric on a white Tee and I was very impressed with how cute the Tee was, but most off all in the craftsmanship.
The stitching is very clean and very well done. The minute I saw the shirt, I knew that the person that made it knew what she was doing and that she takes good care of her work and that is something that I can certainly appreciate. I can be…..Well a little critical sometimes (I think all crafters are). But I had no complaints about this Tee.
I have washed the Tee a couple of times (it is long sleeve, so is a little hot to wear right now). But the colors are just the same. The shirt has shrunk some if you use the drier so when buying from Julianne Originals keep that in mind:).
Looking through her different items I think one of my favorite if not my favorite items has to be the
Brown Paisley Bella Infant or Toddler Chenille Bib. Those are just adorable and such a great Baby shower gift:).

The Body Shop Buriti Baby -Review.

I first learned about the Body Shop when I was living in Spain and I loved their products.
Back then they did not have a baby line or at least I don’t think so…..Well now they do and it is called
Buriti Baby . There are 3 key ingredients in the Buriti Baby line:
Buriti Oil.
From the Amazonian "tree of life", the oil of the Buriti nut contains one of the richest sources of beta-carotene and pro-vitamin A and helps soothe, soften and protect the skin against over-drying.
Cocoa butter
Is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. It enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells, in addition to providing small-scale farmers with income to support their families in the area where it is farmed from.
Sunflower Seed Oil
Moisturises and helps to soften the skin.
I was lucky enough to try some of the products on this new product line:
Buriti Baby Shampoo. I have told you before about my problem with the ladybug’s curls…. When I first tried the shampoo I was expecting it to have the usual all over the place curls because I did not use any conditioner, just the shampoo. I was very surprised to see the results on the bug’s hair not only did it work as if I had used a detangler, but it also gave her hair an extra and very natural shine that I just love. The bug’s hair looks healthy and tangles free and one of the things I love the most is the fragrance, very soft clean baby like smell that I like even more every time I use it! The shampoo is also tears free, so I have to say that this is one of my favorite baby products right now.
Buriti Baby Body wash: Is also tears free and non soapy, it is actually creamy and has the same delicious smell as the shampoo. Some products have proven not to work too good on the bug’s sensitive skin, but I have not had any problems or reasons to complain about this body wash. Actually I love the way it seems to be working on the ladybug’s skin.
Buriti baby Body Butter: Here I have a confession to make …. I think it is very obvious that I love the smell on this line, so the ladybug and yes, me too have been using it regularly and OH MY! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. It is absorbed very quickly and you can feel your skin softer almost immediately. And then there is the smell I have repeatedly talked about and that is my favorite thing about this line!
I also received the Buriti Baby Massage Gel which is great for after the bath especially because the ladybug loves massages so much, that she actually asks for them. But I did not find a massage lotion or anything like it that I was happy about until I got the Buriti Baby Massage Gel.

Green is good, good for you and good for the planet which makes it a win-win situation. So I try to go as green as possible and one of my favorite green items is clothing. It doesn’t matter for which member of the family either, because organic clothing is certainly every one’s favorite in this family.
I had the chance to try a couple of Tees from a company named Barley and Birch. Have you heard about them before?
Their shirts, onesies, pants and hats are made in the USA using 100% certified organic cotton and water-based inks. (They don’t pollute the earth, water, or expose farm workers to toxins.)
Also, at least 15% of their profits go to several carbon-reducing initiatives in order to fully offset the carbon emissions that result from the production of their garments.
And at least another 15% goes to organizations that improve people’s lives around the world.
A pretty cool company if you ask me, but on top of all that they have an awesome catalog of incredible cute Tees and onesies designs of animals and breath taking sceneries, that is quite surprisingly special because it is a children’s line.
I received two of the Barley and Birch Tess to review (the monkeys and the blue feet). The first thing I noticed is how soft and breathable the fabric is.
I have washed both shirts a good ½ dozen times and the shirts look just the same. So 10 points for quality. I have not noticed any shrinking, so the size you order is the size you are getting. The Tees are very comfy and are also taggless which I love (always hated those uncomfortable tags on my shirts)!

Pedoodles Shoes- Review and Giveaway

The foot is a complex and amazing part of the human body. With 26 bones in each foot, your feet account for over 1/4 of the bones in your body. No less than 19 muscles and 107 ligaments are used to control the movement of each foot -- and quite a job they have. The average person takes 8,000-10,000 steps a day with their feet, which adds up to roughly 115,000 miles over a lifetime. That's enough walking to circle the earth four times!
And being such an import part of our body it is essential that we take good care of them. And the best time to start to do so is when we are babies. Back when I was a baby there was not so much knowledge about this kind of things, but now that there is I am planning on taking advantage of it and use it in the correct development of the ladybugs feet.
I have recently had the chance to let the bug try Pedoodles shoes, and I have to say that I really liked the designs, and loved the quality of the shoes. To me it is very important that the shoes I use for the ladybug will help her to keep developing her feet properly, I also want the shoes to be comfortable and durable. Pedoodles shoes fill my requirements:).
I got the Sweet Lady Jane Shoes for the ladybug and they are just adorable, but what I like the most about the shoes is that the shoes are made with top grade genuine leather. The leather is very flexible, breathable and natural which is great to promote healthy conditions around developing feet. The shoes are also very easy to clean, and yes, that is very important also.
The Pedoodles shoes are made with PedFlex which is a flat -rubber sole. This sole is light weight and very flexible which provides protection, durability, and traction.
One of the things I really like about Pedoodles is that they are designed to be soft and flexible with plenty of room for those developing piggies and tootsies. All Pedoodles shoes have soft , flat insoles that creates a seamless footbed for tender young feet. They do not have any arch support which helps simulate barefoot walking conditions and it is recommended by experts.
And since it seems that I am always in a rush lately, I just love the fact that there are no shoe laces , I think I can wait till the bug can tie them herself before using laces:). The one complaint I have about the Pedoodle shoes is that I did not know about them when the bug was younger , their first feet collection is to die for!

The ladybug’s crib is a handy-me-down from a friend, which I love…..But as usual when you get something that has been used before there are little things here and there and the crib was no exception.
The drop down bar doesn’t work too good and even thought DH fixed it , I don’t trust it a 100% so I just leave it in the up position and it is totally fine, the only problem with that is that it makes it really hard to change the sheets. I usually ask daddy to help because I need to pull the mattress out and since the bug’s bed has the bumpers, is even more difficult.

Showertime- Review and Giveaway

I am always looking into ways to make my household a little greener and the looking for the products that will help me on the pursuit of my goal.
A few weeks ago I found out about a company called Showertime and I though their product was quite interesting.
The Showertime timer is a small gadget shaped like a drop of water and what is does is that it lets you know whenever you have been in the shower for a period of time of 5 min. When you first turn it on by just taping it, a blue light comes up. Then after 4 ½” have past , that blue light becomes a red rapid flash that last 30 seconds warning you that you have been in the shower for 5 min.
I love the idea because I just hate wasting water and by setting up the timer when we are on the shower, you have an idea of how long you have been in the shower (people usually lose track of time while in the shower).
The timer helps you to being conscious of the time you are spending in the shower which translates to wasted water being saved. It helps to prevent you from being in there any longer than what you really need to.
The benefit of the Showertime:
Helps encourage water users to change wasteful behavior and adopt
conservation as a way of life.
Promotes conservation at the right place — in the shower, where at least
20% of water is used and wasted.
Gently reminds users when it’s time to turn the shower off and continues
the conservation message even when it’s not in use.
Helps save water and energy used to heat water.
Installs quickly and easily with no tools required.
The timer works like a charm and since it is actually small it is not intrusive or out of place in the bathroom.
The one thing I would have to say , is that it attaches to the wall with a small suction cup and the cup is n really not too strong, so I will place the timer on a flat surface or even on the floor other than the wall so you know your timer is not going to fall and break.
Over all the Showertime is a great tool to help create conscious about water waste, a 3-minute reduction in shower time, from the average 8 to 5 minutes could save 6-15 gallons of water per shower per person per day. And that is a lot of water if you ask me.

I have been looking for a body shaper for quite a while now; I have actually bought two of them but I hardly ever wear them because they are very uncomfortable and extremely hot.
I have tried a few other brands while shopping at the mall, but none of them were what I was looking for.
A few weeks ago while doing some Google search I came across amon Maternity and was surprised to see that they carry a body shaper that actually looked very comfortable, and even though they are supposed to be for moms who just had a baby , I decided I would love to give it a try.
This is by far the most comfortable body shaper I have tried! And it also provides a very good fit around the tummy and the mid-section. It is like having a band around your waist and hips but without making it uncomfortable or annoying. I just love the fact that there are no buttons, snaps or anything to tie up, it is just like your regular underwear but definitely better.
I have been using it very frequently ever since I got it and I couldn’t be happier with it. What I like the most about it (besides the fact that I can actually get the support I need without suffering for it) is that the fabric is really breathable and fresh, which living in the hot sunny Florida is a double plus!

I had a really hard time trying to support the weight of my belly when I was pregnant with the ladybug. Somme Institute- Review.

I am trying to take better care of my skin because… Time goes by and I am not getting any younger. D I have had the chance to try some great beauty products and skin care products. I have been using the Somme Institute beauty products regimen MDT5.
MDT5 Stands for Molecular Dispersion Technology , a molecular compound of 5 highly engineered vitamins(A, B3,B5, C and E) attached to specific proteins built to our specifications that target skin cell receptors, allowing these vitamins to go deep within the skin in their active forms at high concentrations. Once in the skin these MDT5 active vitamins treat all skin types and most skin conditions. Reducing fine lines and wrinkles and repairing years of sun damage.
The MDT5 is compose by 5 steps that you need to follow one after the other and the packages are marked by a dot of a different color for each product. It was a little confusing at the beginning because I never remember what follows what , but you can find the information on the box and also on the container where they will say apply after using this or that product. Since I am usually in a rush, I made it a little simpler and just wrote the order number on each dot so I don’t have to be reading through them to find the right one:).
Step one: Cleanser (Blue Dot)


A non-foaming cleanser which contains the MDT5 . Deep cleans the skin without irritating or over drying. Dissolves dirt and oils without clogging pores. The scent is really light and with a little touch of lemon and feels really good when you apply it to the skin, plus you can actually see the results when you dry up your face after using it.
Since is not soapy, is actually very easy to apply and take off.
Step two:

Transport(Lavender Dot). These are soft cotton pads infused with the MDT5 and AHA/BHA which exfoliates dead cells on the skin’s surface, unclogging blocked pores, improves hydration and encourages cell renewal. It feels a little tingling when you apply it to the skin, but nothing really too bad.
Step Three:

Serum (Peach Dot). Combines a potent, stabilized form of vitamin C along with a high concentration of MDT5 to strengthen skin elasticity and smooth the appearance of fine lines. Very Slightly Scented and with a kind of sticky feeling at first, but gets absorbed really quickly.
Step 4 :

A-Bomb( Green Dot). Very light cream which also contains MDT5 and high levels of Vitamins A and E and helps soften fine lines and wrinkles while targets problem areas. This cream is absorbed almost immediately, and makes the skin feel really soft after applying it.
Step 5 :

Double Defense( Pink Dot).Waterproof lotion with SPF 30+ contains MDTA and Parsol 1789 to help protect your skin from premature aging while locking in vital moisture which is essential to keep your skin looking fresh and moisture.
After using the 5 steps for a couple of weeks I started to noticed my skin a bit more smooth , radiant and definitely more hydrated which is one of my main concerns( living in Florida, my skin get so dry that it feels tight and itchy ), that has not happened ever since I started using the Somme products. I have also noticed my freckles a little lighter. After applying all 5 steps, the skin feels a little sticky for a little bit, but that is quickly absorbed. I can also see the difference between my skin before and after applying the treatment, and I love the results I am getting in such a short period of time.
If for whatever reason you can’t get all 5 steps, I will highly recommend getting the first 3 steps or to get their Mobile Kit which contains all 5 steps for only 85.00, which honestly I think is a great deal.
