Stonz Botties- Review and Discount.

I really enjoyed the trip to Ohio this past Holiday and the ladybug loved the snow, so we are really looking forward to our next trip and playing in the snow again! Now the second time around I will definitely be more prepared than this time. For one thing, I have found some great products that would make the playing in the snow experience even more enjoyable.
And one of the first things I will pack will be a pair of Stonz Booties. For those of you that have never heard about these really cute and convenient booties let me introduce you to Stonz and their creators. As an active mom based on Canada’s wet and rugged West Coast, Lisa discovered that finding warm footwear for her young kids was nearly impossible. With her five-month old son in a backpack, Lisa resorted to wrapping scarves around her son’s legs to keep him warm. When she met another mom with a boot that looked a lot like a fleece-lined chalk bag (which was made-by-hand for her child), Lisa instantly knew that these booties could fill a need in the market. Together, they created some samples and attended their first trade show in 2004.
I came across the company about a week before I left for Ohio and contacted the company. I was really excited when they agreed to send me a sample of their so cute booties to test while I was in Ohio, so they shipped them directly there. I have no idea what happened over the Holidays with anything coming from Canada, but the booties arrived to Ohio after we were already back in Florida. Of course I was extremely disappointed because this was a product that we could certainly have used while we were in Ohio.
Lucky for me I have a pair of the booties now and it will be one of the first things I will pack on the ladybugs bag! They literally take no space and they weigh close to nothing which is also a good thing when you are packing for a couple of weeks or have limited space.
We had some really cold days down here, so I still had the chance to try the boots, only without the snow. I have to say that they are really warm. The booties are made of flexible fabric and have rubberized non-skid soft soles. The shoe does not need to fit exactly when choosing a size and can be worn with bare feet, with their Linerz or over a sock and shoe depending on how cold the weather is. I had the ladybug wear the boots with nothing else on and she seem to be really comfortable with them, it is like wearing soft sole shoes. The boots have an adjustable fit and flexible construction. Since you can add extra layers by adding socks, your kids get to wear them for a longer period of time. I love shoes that offer you that kind of possibility.
One feature that I love about the booties is how light they are and the fact that they made of a coated nylon fabric making them rain repellent. The booties' soles are made of a waterproof rubberized fabric. Please note that even though the material used to make the boots would help keep the water from getting in the boots, if the kids are playing in puddles, the water would eventually get in the booties. I found that out first hand. All you will need to dry your booties is to throw them in the drier for about 10 min. and they are good to go!
Stonz also offers other products that are meant to be for cold weather such as their also very cute hats.
