I learned how to drive in Spain and that is also where I got my first driver’s license. For that same reason I got used to their driving laws and regulations and one very strict law is not to use the cell phone while you are driving unless you have a blue tooth device and the penalties for breaking this law can be really costly. Personally, I think that it is a great law. I truly believe that the concentration is not the same when you are holding a phone to your ear. And if I had any doubts, they were erased a couple of years ago when my father in-law was hit by a car while crossing a street while having the right of way…….The driver was on the phone and didn’t see the people going across! Looking for the ringing cell phone while driving is another thing that can be very distractive. And the worst has to be texting while you are driving!
My husband is the kind of person that thinks that you are supposed to do all the phone calls you have pending while you are driving. I guess it is his own idea of multi tasking……It drives me nuts when he does that, so when I recently had the chance to try one of the Motorola’s latest hands-free devices, the H17txt with Motospeak I was beyond happy.
The first thing I need to say about the Motorola H17txt is that it is a really handsome headset…. It looks really sleek and it is the smallest in size I have seen so far. The H17txt is really comfortable and I might add lite in weight.
One of the greatest features of the device is that it supports the new MotoSpeak application that reads text messages into your headset! This feature will only work with Android or RIM devices which we don’t own, but I am so looking into getting an Android now!
The H17txt also has an amazing audio clarity with CrystalTalk dual and this feature we tested to the max….My husband has what I call his toy car which an extremely loud convertible car….You can’t usually hear a thing if you are in the car even with the windows and the top up……He called me the other day and he was driving the car 75 Milles per hour on I-95 with the windows and the roof down and I could not believe how clear the conversation was!
Another great feature is that if you leave your phone behind and walk away, the headset will let you know that the phone is out of range……My husband is forgetting his phone constantly but ever since we got the H17txt it hasn’t happened. He has had to come back to the car or the house and get it when he’s outside of 10 meters, but that is it. I love it and that is really a very useful feature and since the device is so comfortable, my husband always has it on….Even in the house!
More features to love about the H17txt……You can connect two different phones to the same device, when you turn on the headset , a voice prompt informs you of the battery level, you can turn it on by opening the boom and turn it off by closing it. You can reject calls, make voice calls, redial the last call, answer a second call……Are you loving it yet?
I always owned Motorola phones when I lived in Spain, I always liked the products, but this is my favorite yet!
