This is a review I did a few months ago, but wanted to included it on this giveaway:
Finding the perfect baby carrier is certainly not an easy task, there are many different products offered so moms can carry their little ones around and be able to do the chores and everyday errands. And since there are so many products it is really easy to get lost and end up with a baby carrier that doesn’t suit your needs.
Babywearing is the practice of wearing or carrying a baby or child in a sling or other form of carrier. Babywearing is far from new and has been practiced for centuries around the world. In the industrialized world, babywearing has gained popularity in recent decades.
Babywearing allows the wearer to have two free hands to accomplish tasks such as laundry while caring for the baby's needs to be held or breastfed. Babywearing offers a safer alternative to placing a car seat on top of a shopping cart. It also allows children to be involved in social interactions and to see their surroundings as an adult would.
Many sling users have found that it is easier on the back and shoulders than carrying their infant in a car seat. The weight of the child is spread more evenly across the upper body. And if you have back problems like I do, you can certainly appreciate a way to carry your little one around with the less strain to your back possible.
I have been lucky enough to try a few different baby carriers in different styles and baby wearing has gained its way in my heart….Back and shoulders!
I recently had the chance to try a great baby sling: The Organic Sleepy Wrap. The Sleepy Wrap is a Stretchy and very soft sling, perfect for the babies’ delicate skin, which you can get in about a dozen different colors in the original design and two different colors in organic fabric. And it is probably the most comfortable sling I had the pleasure to try so far.
One of the great features of the Sleepy Wrap is that it is totally adaptable so anyone can use it so daddy and mommy can carry their baby around without too much trouble or having to buy different carriers because you loosen or tight the wrap as you wish.
For a non experience wrap sling user like myself, it may take a couple of tries to get the wrap set up correctly before you can get it right, ( the instructions comes with the sling and can also be seen in the Sleepy Wrap website), but once you get it, you see that it is actually really easy. Since the ladybug is a little big to have in the front, I have tried the back carry and I was surprised on how comfortable it is for both the bug and me.
Another really great thing about the Sleepy Wrap is that you can use it in different positions as the little one grows so it is easier for you to still carry her around with the same sling! Not to mention that this great sling also allows you to breast feed your little one while she is comfortably in her carrier….And that is something that I am so going to do with my next baby( no, I am not pregnant….Yet).
But this is definitely the way to go with a newborn, especially when you have another bug that is also going to need attention. It is truly amazing the freedom that the Sleepy Wrap gives you and how very comfortable it is for both mommy and baby.
