Right before the Holidays, I was contacted by the owner of a toy store called GummyLump. They asked me if I would be interested in reviewing one of their toys. GUmmyLump offers just the kind of toys I am always looking for the ladybug, so I immediately said yes to the offer.
GummyLump has a great and wide selection of educational toys, most of them by Melissa and Doug which we really like in this house. They gave me a few options to choose from , including a Melissa and Doug Dinosaur Chunky Puzzle.
The puzzle is really colorful and I actually let the ladybug choose from the different options I was given and she immediately picked the “saurs” so that is what We’ve got.
As with all of the toys I have gotten from the Melissa and Doug collection, the puzzle is of great quality and the ladybug loves it. The 7 pieces wooden puzzle is just right for helping the kids with their matching skills.
What I like the best about the GummyLump website is that it is designed to help parents make the right choice of toys for the little ones including special needs toys, which I personally think is an awesome idea. They also offer you the possibility to ask a question to Helena McDermott who is a BA MA Special Education Teacher, and as I said a great idea.

Sun and Earth- Eco-Friendly Laundry Detergent-Review and Giveaway.

My favorite cleaning products are and always will be green products that are good for the environment and good for my family! I had reviewed some green cleaning products, but not any laundry products…At least until now. I have been using some of the Sun and Earth laundry products that are free of petroleum based cleaners, chlorine, phosphates, dyes and perfumes that leave behind residue that could be harmful to your family, children and pet's health. They create their cleaning agents from plant, fruit and vegetable oils that are non-toxic to your family and safe for the Earth. Just the kind of products that I like to use in my house.
Sun and Earth sent me a complete fabric care package to review their products containing:
1 - 50 oz. 2x Laundry Detergent (Refill Station Bottle) .Which is made with natural surfactants (made from coconut, palm and vegetable oil), orange oil, sodium carbonate, preservative, water. This little bottle takes you a long ways, and I totally love the citrus scent on the detergent which is really soft and fresh. I have been using it for the laundry of the whole family. Until now I always used a baby detergent for the ladybugs cloths, even though she is 2 ½ , she tends to get a bit of a rash as an allergic reaction, but never had any problems while using this detergent.
1 - 40 oz. Liquid Fabric Softener. This is definitely my favorite product of them all, as its made with Natural softener (made from canola oil), fragrance made from natural oils, preservative, and water. The scent is so soft that it almost reminds me of a creamy body gel….. It works great on the clothes, and it is Hypoallergenic! And as with the detergent, you get a lot from the bottle even though it is not that big.
1 - .338 oz. On the Spot Instant Stain Remover Pen. Great to take with you anywhere you go! I tried on a coffee stain and I was still able to see the stain after using the pen, but not nearly as bad as it was before I used the pen. Great for mommies on the go.
1 - 80 ct. Unscented Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets 1 - 80 ct. Citrus Scented Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets. Their fabric softener dryer sheets are hypoallergenic, non-toxic, biodegradable and safe-to-use. They make your clothes, sheets, and blankets feel softer and eliminate static cling. Available in "Fresh Citrus Scent" and "Unscented". I have not been using any fabric softener for a while, that is up until I started to use the Sun and Earth products to do the laundry and it is a big difference on the softness and the static!
I prefer the scented one…..The citrus scent on it is really soft and I like it, but I know there are people who like using the fabric softeners unscented and the Sun and Earth dryer sheets are a great option.

ONS GEAR-MITT-ONS Review.

When I was getting ready for the Ohio trip, I did a lot of research on children’s winter clothes. Living in Florida, I had nothing that was appropriate for the ladybug to wear in such cold weather. I came across a couple of stores that offer winter accessories, and that was the one thing I was more concerned about getting for the ladybug.
ONS GEAR has a product called MITT ONS….MITT ONS are very innovative mittens. Featuring a sleeve to the elbow and a zipper at the wrist for easy access to hands. One of the main concerns I had was to keep her hands and feet warm.
I have to say that ONS GEAR is a Canadian based company and for some reason packages coming from Canada took a really long time to get here in Florida. By the time I received the MITT-ONS we were already back in Florida, so I did not have the time to try them in the snow for which I am really sorry because it is a great product.
The design not only keeps the mittens on, but also adds some extra protection to the arm, which is something that I can certainly appreciate. The longer the kids are kids are comfortable and have their hands and feet warm, the longer they will stay out and enjoy of the outdoors, not to mention that by keeping them warm, we keep them from getting sick.
You have the option to unzip the mittens completely or partially and wear the mittens with or without the sleeve. The mitten is waterproof, the wrist is adjustable and another feature that I thought was ingenious is the soft absorbent thumb for the little ones with a runny nose ….. I was a little concerned about the material used for the thumb, I thought that maybe it would let water in. I put my finger in there and opened the faucet, and no water got through which was really impressive. The mittens also feature a grippy material on the palm of the mitten which would be great for holding onto things such as a railing in the cold.
I think the best feature of the mittens was the sleeve. That is something I’ve never seen before and that keeps the mittens on and also because it is more difficult for the kids to pull the mittens off, which was one of my main issues with the ladybug. I have tried them on her and she couldn’t take them off.
Overall I am really sorry that I didn’t have the chance to use the MITT ONS while I was in Ohio because it is for sure a product I could have used! And I recommend any one that lives in cold weather or is planning a vacation to a cold weather place to check ONS GEAR.com for some great products.

Valentine's Gift Guide- Davie and Chiyo Clutches- Review.

I love bags and the bigger the better, but sometimes you need a small bag for those occasion when mommy time is over and you don’t have to carry diapers, pacifiers and all sorts of baby stuff with you, just whatever YOU will need.
When looking for an evening bag there are a few features that I take into consideration: I look for a bag that is elegant, trendy and that it stands out without being obnoxious …..Elegance and quality are a must for me.
I have recently found a store that I have completely fallen in love with: Davie and Chiyo. Davie and Chiyo was Founded in January of 2009 by sisters Fumi and Himi Bull, Davie & Chiyo started as a part-time hobby, then quickly expanded into a thriving business. For Himi, it started as something she was able to do from home while raising two children, while Fumi - with a fresh business degree in hand - was eager to get into a business of her own. Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos of starting a business, both of them fell completely in love with clutches, and now it is as if they were meant to start a purse store all along!
I have to say that I had never been attracted to clutches……Until now that is! Fumi had kindky sent me the Leaves design which a really simple yet modern and stylish clutch that is made of a heavy cotton in the outer side and it features leaves in beautiful blue shades, apple green and brown….The texture on the dark chocolate feels like velvet which makes it really soft to the touch and really unique. The leaves are on an off white background.
The clutch is totally lined up with silk in a teal color that complements the colors on the outside making the clutch just stunning.
The simple elegance of the clutch makes it really easy to accessorize…The clutch looks incredible with jeans, a cocktail dress and almost anything that I can think of.
If you are planning on a night out for Valentine’s Day you need to check their selection of Valentine’s theme colors….In which you can find black, fuchsia, red, light pink and even pink and chocolate color combination that will for sure compliment any outfit you are planning to use for that special day.
It gets even better … Davie and Chiyo offers customizable Clutches in which you can “design”
You can choose the color of the outer material, you choose your choice of silk lining for the inside of the clutch, and you also choose your frame color: Shiny nickel or antique brass and you even choose whether to have the clutch with or without a chain!

Safety 1st Complete Air Convertible Car Seat -Review and Giveaway

As a parent there are some things that I am truly passionate about and probably the most important subject is my daughter’s safety and comfort while she is in the car. That is why when it comes to what car seat I am going to use for my little bug it is something that I need to feel very confident about……Yes, I do not take this lightly. And when Safety 1st gave me the opportunity to sample their Complete Air Convertible Car Seat with Air Protect Side Impact Technology I was more than willing to try the car seat!
The Complete Air Convertible Car Seat with Air Protect Side Impact Technology from Safety 1st has been designed to protect your child’s head in case of a side crash. The car seat which was really easy to set up and is really lightweight compared to other brands, seems to be really comfortable which is also a very important feature for a car seat.
The placement of Air Protect Technology on the car seat diverts crash forces away from a child’s head, the most vulnerable place in a side impact crash. The simple description to the Air Protect technology is that the car seat has the unique feature of two specially design pillows ( one on each side) that is attached to the inside of the car seat right where the little one’s head rests . The “pillows” had been designed to protect your baby’s head by minimizing the force of an impact. I hope I never have to put this to a test, but I am certainly grateful of this feature in case of an accident.
Safety First explains that this is possible Through the precise release of air, Air Protect shields children from side impact intrusion and immediately reduces crash forces at the most critical spot: around a child’s head.
The safety 1st Air Convertible Car Seat with Air Protect Side Impact Technology can be can be used for rear- facing infants from 5-40 lbs (19 to 41”) and once they can face forward from 22-50 lbs (34 to 45”), which is a great range. I had to change the car seat I had for the ladybug soon after she was big enough to seat face forward. And if we consider that the bug is about 37 months old and barely weighs 34 pounds, I will probably be able to use this car seat until she is ready for a booster seat.
The timing for receiving the Air Protect Car Seat couldn’t have been better. The ladybug had been taking her arms out of the safety belts, and we kept adjusting them and making them tight so she couldn’t do this any longer, but then she will complaint that the belts were hurting her…..Which had me looking over my shoulders every two minutes to make sure that she had her arms inside the belts ……Not the ideal situation when you are driving. I have not had this problem with the Air Protect. The belts are set up so she can’t get out, but it doesn’t hurt her either.
The air pillows on the side of the car seat are adjustable to five different heights which is another very convenient feature that allows you to use the car seat as your little one grows up. Not only does it work great for us, it is also very stylish.
The car seat was very easy to install even though our car is an older model 2001 Durango that does not have the tether latch system that new cars now have.

Doodlebug Designs- Valentine's Cards Review and Giveaway.

I love to take pictures of the ladybug and make them into our holidays cards, but this year between this and that and the fact that we were in Ohio for almost two weeks, I never got around to doing it. Honestly I look forward to getting the cards with my little one on them and send them over to my friends and family. It is also a great way to send off current pictures that otherwise I would probably never send.
When I was contacted by Doodlebug Designs and they offered me the chance to do a review on their so very cute Valentine’s theme cards I was more than willing to do the review.
I picked the Always design which is a flat 5x7 that was printed on high quality cardstock and envelopes to send the cards. I am very picky when it comes to printed cards and stationary, but there is not one thing I can complaint about the cards that Doodlebug sent for me.
The image is perfectly clear and so is the print on the cards. The paper is of great quality and I could not wish for a better job on the cards.
After you send them the pictures, you will receive a proof showing you what your card will look like once it is ready and they promise to work with you until you are 100% happy with the result….I was happy with the first proof they sent me and even happier once I had them in my hands.
They offer a great selection of different Birth announcement and photo invitations, but if you don’t see what you are looking for they will do your cards from scratch and customize it any way you want!

I have been posting some really great presents on my Valentine’s gift guide, and I just realized that none of them were meant to be for men! Well this is a two-way street and they do deserve a present or two.
I have recently had the pleasure to receive samples from J.FOLD Wallets and the first thing I have to say about the company is that they offer really modern and trendy wallets, card holders, men bags and computer bags. Men don’t wear many accessories (we are the lucky ones)! But the wallet might be one of the most important accessories there is for a man and it reflects a lot of the man’s personality.

J.FOLD's guys-only approach to fashion accessories is inspired by the contemporary aesthetics of industrial design, vintage cars, and classic sneakers. As a result, you'll find their creations in design stores such as Museum Modern of Art Design Store as often as you see them in the pages of men's magazines.
The J.FOLD online store is definitely a guy store and the selection of designs and colors are bold, modern and very stylish.

With their design studio located on Broadway in downtown New York City J.FOLD has been diversifying the men’s accessories market ever since they first introduced the bold and colorful leather Sportswallet in February of 2003. ISO Beauty Styling Tools-Review.

Ever since I cut my hair, I have become a real fan of hair straighteners. It is for sure one of the styling tools I need to get my look complete and recently I was given the chance to try the ISO Professional ISO Turbo Pro-Gold (which is not shown on their site).
The very sleek straightener has a Tourmaline coating plate, and temperature setting of 140- 150 Degrees Fahrenheit and gets to the higher temperature really fast and has Ionic –freeze control. I tried mine as soon as I had the chance and really liked how soft it slides on my hair and how shiny it looks after using the straightener.
The cord is really long on this one which really is a plus for me as I like to move around while getting ready and a long cord makes the process a lot easier. One more feature I really like about the Straightener, is that it is light and manageable …….That is definitely a plus for someone like me that just started using a flat iron.
One more thing that I really liked about this product is that it allows you to do different hair styles…..Not all flat irons gives you the possibility o doing Flat Straight, Soft Curls, Flip Out( that is what is use it for right now), and also Flip in with one single Styling tool.

Purpe Pig Yoga T-Shirts-Review.

I had reviewed and done giveaways for the Crazy Dog and the Nacho Mama T-Shirts and I loved both of them. Now the Crazy Dog/Nacho Mama owners have created a sister website called: Purple Pig. I have to admit that I have been weak and when you hear about the company I am going to talk to you about today, I am sure you all will understand and see how easy it is to give in when a temptation like this comes your way…
There is a very sweet company called Heidi Heavenly cookies and it says right on their website that the cookies are sinfully delicious…And that statement is sooo true!
I received the : For The Love of Chocolate basket that came beautifully packaged in a very classic black box and tied with a red ribbon and decorated with a red heart on top of the box. Just the packaging alone gives you an idea (not really) of what is inside the box.
If you like gourmet cookies, chocolate, marshmallows, nuts, caramel and mint…..Then you will definitely love this cookie basket. There is one word to define these cookies and that is delicious! The cookies are made without any preservatives, which is why they recommend that you eat them within two days after you receive them or freeze them…..At the step we were going at my house , the cookies going bad was the last of my worries( DH and the ladybug were arguing about not sharing their cookies)!
Chocolate lots of chocolate is present in this cookie selection and I have to say that is one time I do not regret breaking my diet…..It was so very worth it!

Mabel's Labels-Review.

How many times have you found yourself at the airport waiting for your bags and you pull a bag that you could swear is your bag, but nope….It just looks the same? I hate when that happens, so I decided to take action and get some luggage tags, so next time I need to take a plane I know exactly which ones are my bags.
Mabel’s Labels is a Canadian Mom operated company that makes fun sturdy metal tags that are perfect for children and adults alike and that you can customize with a variety of different images and of course your name or your kids names. Attach a Bag Tag to school bags, camp packs, sporting equipment, luggage or anything you need to keep identified. The tags are really cute and just right size to allow you to have them on your kids bags and to identify your luggage at the airport. The tags are tied up with a ball chain which is great for the kids’ bag. For the luggage I might add another way to tie them just because I know how rough the luggage handlers can be sometimes. The sent me a set of 6 tags for which I picked a little dolphin and my family’s last name.
I also received a set of Tag-Mates. The Tag-Mates are the perfect alternative to iron-on labels. These labels peel and stick to clothing care tags. They do not require any ironing or sewing. Tag-Mates are designed to withstand washing, drying, and wear-and-tear. I was really impressed on how truly easy it is to apply the labels, and even more impressed on how they really stick to the clothes labels and stays put. Definitely a must have if for school, camping, day care and even every day activities…..I don’t know about you, but I have a little stripper that would take her jacket off anywhere and anytime.
I have placed a few of the Tag-Mates on some of the ladybug’s clothes and have washed them a few times and the tags are still in place! The tags are small (21mm x 10mm (13/16" x 3/8")). So you don’t have to worry about them bothering your little one or making them uncomfortable, but at the same time, they are big enough to read the ladybug’s name clearly. I Love these little tags! And if you are tired of losing your kids clothes, then you should take a look at the Mabel’s labels website and find the right style and design for you.
