Mommy and Me Event - Safety 1st Review and Giveaway .

Now that I finally got the ladybug back in her room, I needed to get a new baby monitor for her room. I had one from Nortech Security that I have been using since she was a baby that has some really neat features, but also a major flaw….The sound on the monitor was really bad, so I ended up using an extra sound monitor just for the sound. The issue with the sound monitor is that the back ground static was really bad….Not to mention the fact that I was using two monitors!
When I had the chance to review the new Safety 1st Prism Color Video Monitor , I was really looking forward to it and to see if this monitor would do the trick for us. The monitor has many really neat features that can be controlled on the parents unit and includes:

The image on the screen is really clear and the screen is nice and wide, and even though I though the fact that the camera doesn’t move unless you manually move it was going to be a downfall for me, but  I was able to set up the camera so I can have a complete view of the ladybug’s bed and have not had to move the camera, besides the Zoom gives me a closer look if I need it.

The light on the parents unit is kind of bright, but it doesn’t really bother me, it is like having a night light in the room which can be a really good thing sometimes, at least for me.

The time of day and thermometer is a nice touch. One of the features I really like is the voice activation (this turns off the microphone unless there is a loud enough sound). The hum over the speaker is really low when set on low volume. If you're a light sleeper like me, this prevents you from hearing little things like when your baby moves around in the crib. (This feature can be turned off). The user interface is kind of like a cell phone - on-screen menus and 4-way directional buttons with center select (yellow button) I really like all the different features the monitor offers. Although I do wish they would have some sort of short cuts to access the different menus and options and I would also love it if the cord was a little longer than what it actually is. When charging the blue power light on the front of the unit flashes, so I would recommend charging it during the day.
My favorite feature about the monitor is that it does not create an interference with the Wi-Fi connection and I have never heard the neighbors on my monitor.
One more thing I think is really neat is that if for whatever reason, the camera in the baby’s room gets disconnected, an alarm goes off warning you about it, I like that.

Mommy and Me Event TRIA Laser Hair Removal System - Review .

Right before I moved from Spain to Florida, I had just started to do a laser hair removal, but when I moved here, the prices were a little more prohibitive …..So no laser treatment for me and for a person that used to have the wax done two and even three times at month if possible, well it was a big deal.
So ever since I moved here I have been looking for different methods to have the waxing done myself and I am always looking and researching different products to do it……A couple of weeks ago I found a website called TRIA Beauty and one of the products they offer on their website was really close to a dream come true.
About the company:

Well someone had the best idea EVER and created the TRIA Laser Hair Removal System….What is the TRIA Laser Hair Removal System? The TRIA laser features five energy settings which enables users to customize the treatment to their particular hair color and thickness. Do you see the beauty of this product?….No more hair! I contacted the company immediately and asked them if they would let me do a review on the laser….They said YES!
I started using the laser the very next day after I received it and the first thing you need to do to start using your laser is a onetime activation process that can be done online or over the phone.
I called them to activate my laser….The customer service was absolutely amazing and they walked me through the whole process and answered any questions I asked. The activation process consists of a questionnaire to make sure that you are a candidate to use the laser treatments. Not all skin tones are suitable for the laser hair removal.
The laser comes with a skin sensor that will help you to determine if your skin is the right type to do the treatment on and it also works as a key for the laser. After the laser is activated, you will use the sensor to turn the laser on and they recommend to use the sensor in the specific area you intend to use the laser. If it is suitable, the sensor light will turn green and you can just use it to turn the laser on by moving the sensor up and down right next to the indicator window in the laser’s handle. If your skin is not a good match for the laser, the sensor light will turn red and you should not use the laser.
There are 5 different energy settings on the laser that goes from low to high. The higher the setting, the sooner you will see the results. I am using the higher setting and it is really not bad at all, if you ever had the waxing done this will be nothing for you. I do have to say that the skin sensitivity changes in the different parts of the body and even when you are doing an area you will find that there are parts that are more sensitive even in the same part of the body…..For me when I was doing my legs I didn’t feel anything at all until I reached the knees area, but is really not bad . Some people have described the feeling as a light to medium rubber band snap on the skin, and I think that is very accurate.
As with any treatment the results will not show immediately. According to TRIA, you will begin to see results after your third treatment and be virtually hair-free after eight. I just had my first session and can’t wait for the next one. The sessions should be every other week for the first 3 months. After that, you'll still need to treat once a month for another four to five months to completely remove the hair.
Preparation before using the laser is really simple. You need to start with a close shave and clean skin that's free of lotion, powder, and other treatment products. You will need to place the laser directly on to your skin and you will hear a beep indicating that you can remove the laser and move on to the next skin portion( make sure to overlap the areas you are treating for a complete coverage).

This time I was able to try the LASZLO BLUE Firmarine Treatment Bar. Firming face soap for slightly dry to slightly oily skin. My skin type is what you can call mixed, oily in some areas and dry in some others.
The first thing I have to say about the soap is that it smells incredibly good. The soap has Spirulina Maxima and Algae Extract to firm skin by helping cell renewal and improving skin’s texture. Vitamin C and E providing long lasting anti-oxidant protection. Glycerin, Soribtol and Palm Kernel to help hydration and retain moisturized by binding water to the skin. I could not be more pleased with the results obtained from the soap.
Since I am always on the run, being able to use a product that cleans and treats my skin in one single step, is certainly something that I can appreciate. And my skin feels fresh and clean each time I use the soap…..I was not expecting these kind of results and to get this kind of benefits from a soap bar, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Mommy and Me Event Tralala- Review .

I have been obsessed with little girls clothes lately….I guess that having a little girl kind of explains the reason why. The point is that I have spent a really good amount of time searching for stores that offer girl’s clothing that is out of the ordinary.
A couple of weeks ago I found one of the cutest girl’s stores I have found so far. Tralala is the French designer Anastasia Daquembronne’s Creation and the unique and colorful designs that Anastacia offers in the Tralala clothing line are a mom’s delight and a girl’s dream.
The designs are playful and vibrant with a very distinctive touch. Lots of prints are used in the Tralala collections and the way Anastasia plays with the different colors is just superb. I love the combination of materials she uses for the different designs. This is that kind of clothing that will have mom’s turning their heads everywhere your little one goes.
I was sent a set of a skirt and a top part of the Spring 2010 Collection for the ladybug. The skirt is a very unique fusion between a skirt and a tutu. The skirt feature a print fabric skirt with yellow, pink, lavender, green , blue and purple designs with a couple of tulle layers on top of the skirt and the result is just amazing. Not only the little skirt is as cute as can be, but it is really comfortable. Just the thing that a little girl that feels she’s a princess loves, and that includes mine. (If the ladybug could get her way…She would wear this outfit everywhere she goes).
The set is completed with a sleeveless top in a light blue color. The top has the word Love on the front and is a cut out from the same printed fabric used for the skirt. The whole set is just to die for and I have been asked many times, what is the store I got the outfit from.
They also sent me a racer back dress in the same print as the skirt, the dress is just gorgeous! The kind of dress I have been looking for that will work with the hot Florida summer days. French designer touch is for sure present on this dress and I LOVE it!

The ladybug has been sleeping with us for what was …..Well too long and when she turned three this May we decided that it was time for her to go back to her room. We decided that this would be the best time to make the transition from her crib to a bed, so my mother in law and I started looking for a bed for the little bug.

We visited a lot of different stores and were having a hard time deciding what to get for her, then we found Hayneedle. We found THE BED we were looking for in the store and the first thing I have to say is that I looked everywhere for this same bed and Hayneedle had the best price I was able to find. The Princess Castle Toddler Bed is the cutest bed for a little girl I have seen! And everyone who has seen the bed agrees with me.
The Princess Castle Toddler Bed has the quality that I was looking for, having a very active little one, I need to make sure of the quality of the products if I want them to last. Hand-crafted with imported, laminated Baltic Birch, this bed has been carefully constructed to make it easy to get into but hard to fall out of. The bed is really low and has a board that doubles as a bed rail and it is lower in the center so it is really access for the little ones to get on but really difficult for them to fall and even if they manage to fall the bed sits really low from the ground so they will not likely get hurt (dimensions: 53L x 29.5W x 51.5H inches).
The bed is a lot cuter than what it appears on the website and the have the main board actually set up backwards so you can not appreciate the details to the full extend. The bed is painted with a really light blue color in the background and decorated with pink and lavender castle and white clouds cut outs.
The instructions to set up the bed were not too clear, but even though it was not difficult to get the pieces together. The Bed features 4 posts that makes the bed look even more like a princess bed, at the top of each column, there is a golden top, if your little one is anything like mine, you might need to glue those to the posts.
When putting the bed together, you might need to re-drill a couple of the holes, but not a big deal. It was not until the bed was set up that I realized how cute it is and I have to add the details on the cut outs and the boards is very detailed and absolutely adorable! I can tell you how happy I am that I found Hayneedle and my little princess bed!
The best part is that the ladybug LOVES IT ! I was expecting to have a hard time to get her to sleep in her own bed……She actually asks to go to sleep in her bed now!

Mommy and Me Event Summer Infant- Review and Giveaway

One of the first things besides the car seat a new mom is going to use when the baby arrives is for sure the bassinet. This is where the little one will be sleeping and being such an important piece, I decided to do some research for some  bassinets. I stumbled upon the Nature Purest Soothing Comfort Bassinet from Summer Infant and really liked the look of it and the features it offers. When Summer Infant agreed to do a review of the bassinet, I was more than ready to see if the bassinet was what I had expected.
The first thing I noticed when I received the bassinet, is that it is a lot nicer in person than what you can really appreciate in the pictures. The bassinet features very light colors that pretty much blends in with any decoration you have which is great if you don’t know which way to go, such as if you don’t know the sex of the baby, or you are actually going to have the bassinet in your own room….It will not look intrusive and out of place.
The Nature’s Purest Soothing Comfort Bassinet is made of naturally grown and colored cotton. The bassinet offers 3 musical melodies, 2 nature sounds and 1 womb sound, as well as soothing vibrations. I would recommend getting rechargeable batteries. It’s just great for the little ones to relax and feel comfortable, especially during the first days after you bring the baby home from the hospital.
The bassinet is a good size so it will last a few months before your baby needs to move into a full size crib. Because of the way the legs are shaped, it can be a little difficult to move the basinet from one room to another room , but when you tip one side you should be able to get it through the doorway. But I would recommend keeping it in the room you want to use it to avoid scratching the legs.
One of the best features is that it is really sturdy and I will say that and comfort are the two keys to a good bassinet. The mattress looks comfortable and the fabric is super soft, great for babies sensitive skin……. I can definitely appreciate the storage space underneath the bassinet.
Putting the bassinet together took me a little bit of time, but I have to admit I am not exactly Handy Manny!

Having a white and bright smile is probably something on mostly everybody’s priority list. It is certainly in mine….Keeping the teeth pearly white is not an easy task (especially for tea and coffee drinkers) and I have been really interested in products that can help me to achieve that goal.
I have found a company called Go Smile which specializes in this kind of product. With a complete selection of easy to apply products Go Smile makes the teeth whitening a hassle free process. I had the chance to try some of their teeth whitening products and I have to say that I am really impressed with the results.
I visit the dentist twice a year, brush, floss and take care of my teeth the best as I can, but I have never been happy with the color of my teeth. They really are not that bad, but they are not that gorgeous white that I see a lot of people have. So when I had the chance to try some of the Go Smile products I was really looking forward to seeing how well it would work for me.
I was able to try the Go Smile Smile Whitening System, which is really easy to use, it is a twice a day, morning and night application which you do right after brushing and it is a 7 day treatment.
The complete process is very easy; all you need to do is follow 3 simple steps
1. FLIP
Pull ampoule from outer sleeve. Flip the ampoule over and reinsert it into the sleeve with the applicator tip pointing outwards.
2. POP
Center the ampoule between thumb and index finger. With the applicator tip pointing down, squeeze firmly until the inner tube pops. You've just activated the whitening serum. Continue to squeeze until tip is saturated with serum.
3. WHITEN
Apply directly to each tooth’s surface in a circular motion. Avoid sensitivity by targeting away from the gum area. Continue to squeeze as you apply the serum until the ampoule is empty.
After using the 7 days kit and the extra boost whitening ampoules, I could definitely see a big difference in the color of my teeth! They are not pearly white, but the difference is really noticeable! The taste is a little funny at first, but actually not that bad at all.
I also tried the Go Smile Lip treatment and Love it! It is an intensely moisturizing Lip Treatment. It’s specially formulated with Vitamin E and shea and cocoa butters. It looks like a regular lip balm, so it is really easy to carry around with you at all times, the vanilla lip treatment is a luxurious way to keep your lips soft and soothe and keep them from cracking!
One of my favorites was for sure the AM “Energy” and PM “Tranquility” Luxury Toothpaste Duo. This delicious AM and PM Luxury Fluoride Toothpastes, enriched with natural extracts to give you a boost of energy in the morning and relax you at night. The toothpastes are formulated with hydrated silica to safely polish away stains and fluoride to prevent decay and strengthen enamel. My teeth got really weakened with my pregnancy, so I am always trying to “help” them with fluoride pastes, but I usually don’t really like the taste of them, which was not the case with the Go Smile tooth paste. I have to add that after brushing my teeth with the paste and using the ampoules my teeth felt really clean and that feeling lasted the whole day!
They also offer 7-count touch up kits with flavors like apple, mint and watermelon ( Watermelon was my personal favorite) and they are great to maintain the results obtained from the whitening treatment, not to mention it gives you a clean “just brushed” feeling at any time you might need it.

The buckles tend to peel off the material on the sandal a little bit , but you can really see it after the sandals are on.

Simple and comfortable these are the kind of sandals you will appreciate having while running around or when you are going to a non formal activity where you want to be comfortable without loosing the cute factor.

I fell in love with this top the minute I saw it. It is just perfect for the hot summer weather here in Florida. The Little Teapot Top boasts woven oatmeal fabric that flows freely from a pleated neckline. Deep blue floral embroidery accents the shoulder straps and hemline like a proper china print. Small key hole fastens with two buttons and eyelets at back. The top is as comfortable as can be and looks awesome with a pair of jeans….And if you get the Bamboo Dexter sandals like I did, you have a real winner.
