Fisher-Price Recalls Children's Trikes Due to Risk of Serious Injury

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Fisher Price Trikes and Tough Trikes toddler tricycles
Units: About 7 Million in the United States and 150,000 in Canada.
Manufacturer: Fisher-Price Inc., of East Aurora, N.Y.
Hazard: A child can strike, sit or fall on the protruding plastic ignition key resulting in serious injury, including genital bleeding.
Incidents/Injuries: CPSC and Fisher-Price are aware of 10 reports of incidents resulting in injury. Six of the incidents required medical attention after young girls, ages two to three years old, fell against or on the protruding disc-shaped and D-shaped pretend key.
Description: This recall involves the Fisher-Price Trikes and Tough Trikes toddler tricycles with model numbers listed in the chart below and that have either a disc-shaped or D-shaped pretend key. The model numbers are located under the seat in the storage compartment. The trikes are intended for children 2 to 5 years of age. The pretend keys are located about 3 inches in front of the seat and protrude at least 5/8 inches above the trike's body. The trikes manufactured after June 16, 2010 are not included in this recall. These trikes have a modified key in a flattened D shape (see picture below) and a manufacturer run number higher than 1670Q2. The run number indicates the trike was manufactured on the 167th day of 2010 or on June 16, 2010. The run number is found under the seat below the model number.
Sold at: Mass merchandise stores nationwide from January 1997 through September 2010 for about $25.
Manufactured in: Mexico
Remedy: Consumers should immediately place the trikes out of children's reach and contact Fisher-Price for a free replacement key.

Born 2 Impress Everything Home Event- Organize World Review and Giveaway.

While I was on my search for organizational products for the home, I stumbled upon the Organize World website and was immediately drawn to the laundry organizing products, even though I must say their selection of bedroom organizer is really nice and priced even nicer!
Organize World provides you with everything from bill organizers, shoe organizers, kitchen cabinet organizers, scrapbooking furniture, kitchen drawer organizers, to free standing closets. They also offer organizing tips and organizing articles to help get you organized, I can always use tips and ideas so this is a big plus for me.
Organize World gave me the chance to try their Chrome and Canvas Hamper. The hamper is a 17.5" X 23.5"H collapsible laundry basket with wheels. I have been looking for something to use in my laundry room but didn’t find anything that worked as good as this basket.
The canvas used on the basket is heavy duty and well made ….I’m sure it will last and perform as expected for a long time. The frame is a sturdy welded frame with a rust-free chrome finish. We had a little bit of a hard time putting the basket together. The instructions were not as clear as I like them to be, but if I have to be honest, all you need to do is to look at the basket on their website and you can figure it out easily without the instructions.
The basket would look great in a laundry room and even in the bathroom and it is a great way to move your laundry from one room to another, the wheels work really good even on my carpeted floor, so I am thinking this would be a great asset for an older person to assist them with their laundry. I was really surprised on how many clothes I could put in the basket as it doesn’t take that much space on my small laundry room…..Needless to say I love this basket!

Umi Shoes- Review and Giveaway.

A few days ago I posted a sale for Umi shoes. Umi shoes have the cutest boots for little girls that I have been able to find! I LOVE boots (too bad I moved to Florida). And the Umi Boots immediately got my attention. But being a little bit more practical I knew boots+ Florida= too hot. ( Unless I have my way and go up north for the Holidays).
So I went through their catalog and fell in love with many of the styles offered in the UMI catalog…. just adorable I had the chance to try a pair of the Chickadee design shoes in pink …The shoes are just adorable and one of my favorites because it is really different and out of the ordinary. The Chicadee design features a raspberry pink shoe decorated with pink and silver accents to make the shoe’s look very unique. The shoe also features a really cute flowers and birds design that doubles as anti-slip. They have tons of different styles and models for all tastes and personalities. And the colors are just AWESOME.
I have done many shoe reviews and there are a couple of key features that I look for when I am shopping for shoes for the ladybug and those things are comfort, quality and also that the shoe actually allows the correct development of my bug’s feet. These are certainly covered by Umi .
The Velcro closure makes putting the shoe on and taking it off really easy and simple….So that even my little bug can do it herself….And I don’t know about your little one, but mine loves doing things all by herself!

Before I had the ladybug I was a 32-B bra size….After the baby I found myself with a 36-B….Quite a difference as you can see. I never had any issues getting a bra that fit properly. That was until I got my newly acquired breast size, but after the baby and with my back problems, getting a bra that is both comfortable and that looks good as the same time is not as easy, and even though a 36-B is not really a big size, I am still not used to the change.

According to Breeze Comfort, traditional padded bras are typically made from man-made materials that prevent the evaporation of perspiration. The result is the accumulation of moisture in the breast cup area, which causes discomfort to the wearer….That made sense to me since once you are uncomfortable with one aspect of the bra, the whole thing becomes a torture. And of course, since I live in sunny Florida, maybe that was the key to my problem.
What makes Breeze comfort bra different than the traditional? The VentipadTM which is a revolutionary invention in bra pad technology invented with ultimate breathability in mind. Unlike traditional bra pads, the VentipadTM has perforations throughout the padding, which allows the passage of air and moisture in the area around the chest.
Although this is not exactly the bra you would choose for a romantic night, it is for sure a great bra for everyday use. A few weeks ago I found a product that I thought was really ingenious and really cute at the same time. I have done reviews for some really neat products and the product I bring you today definitely falls into that category. I have done reviews for some really neat products and the product I bring you today definitely falls into that category. I am positive that a lot of you know of or at least has heard of the 4moms products, but in case that any one has not heard of this amazing line of products I would love to be the first to introduce you to them.
The 4moms Company: The company is named after 4 real live moms (well, actually 5 moms, but 4moms makes a better name, so one mom adopted the nickname ‘The Stealth Mom'). Jenn, Cindy, Kristen, Elizabeth and Erin were the 4moms’ original focus group, and ever since that first meeting, they’ve been contributing their insights and expertise to the 4 moms products (between the five of them, they’ve got 15 kids, so they know their stuff!). Besides we all know….mom knows best!
They only have a few products, but I have to say that all of them are very unique and certainly very appealing! I was really interested in trying their products, and they sent me the Clean Water Infant tub. The tub is unlike anything I have seen before and the whole concept just simply ingenious…..
Most tubs hold a small amount of water that gets dirty and cold during bathing so your little one ends up taking a bath with dirty water. 4moms found the perfect solution to that problem. They have created a bathtub that has a hole in the side of the tub so dirty water can drain out while clean fresh water flows in…..As I said simple yet ingenious!

Born 2 Impress Everything Home Event-Hayneedle Review and Giveaway.

You will probably remember the great review and giveaway we had for the Hayneedle store a few weeks ago. The Hayneedle company started in 2002, when founders Doug Nielsen, Mark Hasebroock, and Julie Mahloch acquired Hammocks.com and began selling hammocks online. They saw the potential of launching more sites, each devoted to a product category. This became NetShops, where they continued to launch sites focused on home and outdoor living.
In August 2009, they unveiled their new name and new, easy-to-navigate website. hayneedle.com includes 220 stores and counting, each devoted to a single product category. Best of all, you can shop all of them with one global shopping cart. From hammocks at hammocks.com to dart boards at - you guessed it - dartboards.com, Hayneedle dives deeply into selection; each store showcases true variety.
With 220+ stores in as many categories as you might want, Hayneedle makes shopping really easy….. Navigating through the different stores is really easy and being able to add any products from any of them to a common shopping cart, makes it really nice.
In the previous review I had the chance to try the Princess Castle Toddler Bed for the ladybug and I am very happy to report that the bed looks as cute as the first day it came in!
After the review We have actually purchased a couple of great pieces from Hayneedle : Classic Playtime Storage Tower with Canvas Bins – White, and have a really cute storage bench on my list of soon to buy products as well! I just love the store and of course I asked them if they would be interested in participating in the everything Home Event to which they said yes!
In this latest opportunity I had the chance to try the KidKraft Savannah Dollhouse. The dollhouse is one of the best sellers in the Hayneedle store for that category and is also the 2006 Parents' Choice Approved Award Winner! Child Magazine's Top 50 Toy of the Year Award. I understood why as soon as I was able to set it up!
The dollhouse is perfectly sized for most fashion dolls; this large dollhouse is filled with wooden furniture, and is finished in the classic style found among the stately homes of Savannah, Georgia. Both the house and furniture are very sturdy so you know you are actually buying something that will last a long time. We (my daughter and me) love it and it is a great buy for the price! Setting up the dollhouse was very easy to put together as long as you follow the directions.

When I go to bed a night, I love getting in my bed to a soft breathable blanket….I have to say that I am really picky when it comes to my sheets and mattress…..A couple of weeks ago I came across Hard to Find Sheets and even though the website looks really simple I really liked the products they offered in their catalog.
With a great selection of sheets for all kinds and sizes of mattresses, I was given the opportunity to try their 300TC Organic Pure Collection Luxury Bed Sheets and I loved the quality on the set. I also love how soft the fabric feels to the touch and how breathable the material is.

Born 2 Impress Everything Home Event-Bialetti Review and Giveaway.

Have you heard of the Bialetti products? Ever since I lived in Europe I became a huge fan of European products, which is the reason why I was really excited to try this Italian brand. Bialetti was first known back in 1933 when Alfonso Bialetti revolutionized home coffee brewing in Italy when he introduced the Moka Express aluminum stovetop brewer.
Later , Bialetti expanded its product line and included a fashion forward line of nonstick aluminum cookware marketed under the Rondine Brand. The quality-driven line of pots and pans quickly became a category leader. Today , Rondine has the second largest market share of cookware in Europe.
In partnership with Bradshaw International, Bialetti made its official trade debut in January 2001 at the international Housewares Show in Chicago. Offering a comprehensive roster of cookware and coffee maker products, Bialetti is geared towards mass department and specialty stores.
I had the chance to try a set of the Aeternum pan set. And the first thing I thought when I saw the pan set was…..They are gorgeous. They truly are very attractive, modern and certainly a great addition to my kitchen ware!
The Aeternum combines a beautiful design with modern eco friendly cooking technology for best results. The eco friendly Aeternum cookware line is free of PFOA, free of PTFE and free of Cadmium. The interior features a new "nano-ceramic" coating which is a water-based coating made of titanium and suspended silicate micro-particles (the main component of glass); one of the purest and most ecological materials in nature. This material resists scratches, abrasions and offers a smooth, compact and uniform surface that makes it easier to clean. The white color provides a unique and extraordinary cooking experience. The outside of the pan is of a deep red that in contrast with the white in the interior makes this pan standout from the rest I have seen before.
The base provides excellent thermal conductivity and guarantees optimum heat distribution resulting in less energy required to maintain the desired cooking temperature. They also feature a scratch resistant hi-temp silicone exterior that makes this cookware easy to clean.
I was really impressed with the quality/cost factor, the whole set retails for 79.95 and the quality of the pans is certainly one that I would expect to pay a lot more than that for. This 3-piece saute pan set includes:- 8" (20cm) Saute Pan - 9.5" (24cm) Saute Pan- 11" (28cm) Saute Pan. As I mentioned before I was really impressed with the quality, price and looks of the set!
I have been using the pans for a few days now and love their performance in the kitchen and getting eco-friendly cookware at such affordable prices. For this reason, I have added the Bialetti brand to my list of favorite kitchen products.

I had the chance to try one of the many products offered in their website…..If I have to be honest I was not very excited with the product they decided to send for the review….They told me they were going to send the Faux Silk Ribbon Drapes and Curtains.
Then I received the curtains and I have to say I was really excited about the curtains…..They are absolutely beautiful, the truth is that you can hardly appreciate how cute these curtains really are by looking at the picture on their website…..The curtains exceeded my expectations by a long shot!
The curtains are Custom made from faux silk taffetta with ribbon designs. It comes in six unique colors from pinks to browns. I had the chance to try the peach colored one and the fabric changes tones with the sun light and the design they achieved with the ribbon is unlike nothing I have seen before, very unique and very well made.
The curtains feature Blind Stitched 4" doubled bottom hems, weighted in corners and seams, blind stitched 2" doubled side hems,premium cotton lining. It does a great job at keeping the sun out and gives the room a very soft and warm light that I just love.

You know how much I love green cleaning products….Well I would like to talk to you about a great green cleaning products company that I had the pleasure to test for this giveaway. I had the chance to try their products a few months ago and loved the results! So I am really pleased to bring you their products once more.
I am sure that many of you have already heard and probably even used the Simple Green Cleaning products, but just in case you have not, let me introduce you to the Simple Green products Company:
The Simple Green story began over thirty years ago, long before “environmentally friendly” products were mandated by law. Bruce FaBrizio and his father developed a safer alternative to the toxic cleaners then being used to remove tannic acid, a by-product of coffee roasting, from roasting machinery. It took three years to perfect the biodegradable, not-toxic, non-flammable, non-abrasive formula. After its initial success, Bruce began selling Simple Green to automotive and industrial customers in 55-gallon drums; which he delivered in his van, for use as a cleaner on equipment and floors.
Now days Simple Green offers a wide variety of eco-friendly products for the house hold cleaning and I was lucky enough to try a few of the Simple Green Naturals products they have to offer:
Bathroom Cleaner: This is one of my favorite products, since my daughter just loves showers, I like to make sure the shower is clean at all times and using a product that is made from 100% naturally-derived and sustainable ingredients is certainly my idea of the right product. The very light scent (herbal/mint) makes it also more pleasant. I hate strong chemicals; they usually give me a headache. Even though the product is very gentle it does a great job removing the soap scum from the shower and bath tub.
Floor Care: I have white tiles in bathrooms and the kitchen and sometimes it seems impossible to find products that are non toxic-biodegradable and that at the same time helps you to keep your floors clean and with that shine I am always trying to get. This product helps you to do just so and it is especially good for touch ups in those times you get a messy spot here and there in the kitchen.
Multi-Surface: great for hard surfaces in your home. From top to bottom and everything in between cleans cabinets, counters, appliances and more. It is an awesome tool for the kitchen cabinets and removing that grease film that can accumulate on them, it is also what I use for the counter tops and bathroom sinks. It is very light scented and non invasive.
Glass and surface Cleaner: For some reason the ladybug believes that it is her mission to help mommy to clean the sliding doors and the glass on living room table, so each time I am cleaning them she starts rubbing the glass with her hands…..Yes mommy’s little helper. Well it is really a relief to know that even if she is touching the glass with the product still on it, she is safe because there is no ammonia or alcohol in the product ingredients and yet it cleans as good if not better than the ones that do.
Hand Soap: I have been using this really light herbal scented soap (we keep it in the bathroom). And I love it. The scent is really light and very pleasant. The soap is very light which is awesome, because I tend to wash my hands way too many times during the day.
Dish Soap: a little goes a long way and smells really light, it has a citrus scent and as all the Simple Green Naturals, it is made from 100% naturally derived and sustainable ingredients and has never been tested on animals.
