National Breastfeeding Month Celebration- The First Years miPump and Breastflow Starter Set Review and Giveaway.

On August 6, 2011, USBC officially declared that August is National Breastfeeding Month, at a Community Baby Shower event hosted by Howard University Hospital and the DC Breastfeeding Coalition. In addition to the National Breastfeeding Month proclamation, the day's events included participation in the Big Latch On and a visit from the Latch On America cross-country bus tour.

Breastfeeding is one of the most natural and beneficial acts a mother can do for her child.  Great health benefits have been proven to pass from mother to child through breast milk.  The list of benefits goes   from antibodies which protect an infant at birth...to the exclusive nutrients in mother's milk which have been shown to prevent a number of childhood diseases...The benefits are incalculable.  I knew from the moment I found out I was expecting that I wanted the best for my little one and breastfeeding certainly is the best; not only for the baby, but it also has great benefits for the mom, so it really is a win win situation.  They say that for a mom that benefits – for each child they breastfeed, their odds of getting breast cancer goes down dramatically.

After having the bug at home for just a few days, it was very clear that I was going to need a pump and I must say there are a lot of different pumps out there and more made each day.  It is very important that you get a pump that adapts to your needs and that it is comfortable ……Comfort is a very important part of pumping.

From the first years feeding line, I also received the Breastflow Starter Set. When the ladybug was a baby she suffered from colic and she would cry and scream……Poor baby, at the time I was using a really recognized brand of bottles that were supposed to be great to reduce colic, but it did not work for us, so the second time around I will go with the Breastflow brand. For what I heard and research about the Breastflow bottles, this seems to be like a great option:
