I love healthy food and we enjoy cooking from scratch as much as possible…So I like having all the right tools for my kitchen, because if there is something I have learned, it is that the correct tools in the kitchen can make your cooking experience a lot easier….I have been thinking for a while now to get a food processor and after a lot of research, I came across the Magimix from Robot-Coupe.

Robot-Coupe, the French company that developed the first food processor, applies the technology of its commercial models to this high-performance processor for home use. This versatile machine includes many components and accessories for a wide variety of uses.

I was really excited to try this product and the very first thing I noticed about the Magimix was the sleek and quality design of the unit which makes it perfect to keep the Magimix on top of the kitchen counter as one of the permanent elements in my kitchen décor. The Magimix comes in different sizes and two different colors ( white and chrome). The unit I received was the Magimix 4200 XL by Robot-Coupe Food Processors, 14-Cup in chrome.

The Magimix comes with a series of different attachments that allows you to use this unit for a variety of uses. The Magimix comes with a container to keep your elements stored and organized so it is easier to see the different attachments, grating disks and slicers, and it also comes with a spatula and complete user’s manual that includes a great selection of different recipes that can be prepared using the magimix. Also included is a DVD that shows you how to make different recipes step by step…These are easy and quick recipes that you can make with your magimix.

While I love cooking I do not enjoy chopping, cutting, and slicing as much and honestly, this is the part that takes most of the time and effort. This, as you might guess is where this great food processor comes into place. The 3 different Magimix models feature 3 different bowls: 6-cup, 12-cup and 14-cup mixing bowls that will allow you to work with different ingredients and process at the same time. The 4200 XL features an extra-large feeding tube for larger vegetables that do not need to be pre- cut. Thanks to the size of the feeding tube, the Magimix 4200 XL can be used for mincing herbs, chopping nuts or blending a sauce, crushing ice, and of course mixing…..So as you can see this is one versatile machine.

The motor is relatively quiet. Setting up the different bowls and attachments is very easy . Our blenderHave  broke a couple of weeks ago and we were looking at buying a new one……Magimix has the BlenderMix attachment that allows you to prepare creamy soups, milkshakes, and smoothies, so it has basically eliminated the need of a blender. While having limited space on my kitchen counter, this is certainly something I can truly appreciate. There are many other attachments that you can purchase separately for your Magimix that will give you even more cooking power!

The piece on the feeding tube that you use to push down the vegetables, is also a measuring cup with measurements in ml, oz, and pts…Which is yet another convenient feature on the Magimix. Please note that the unit has a safety mechanism and if the lid and bowl are not locked properly, the machine will not turn on. ( the handle goes in the front of the unit).

Both my mom and me make a paste that contains cilantro, garlic, onions, and peppers that we keep it in the fridge as our base ingredient for most of the Spanish dishes we cook and the food processor is just perfect for making this and other sauces such as a pesto. I am so very happy to have found this food processor and I am already looking at some of the recipes in the book so I can make some new dishes for DH and the ladybug.
To make this food processor even more convenient, all removable parts are dishwasher safe.

• 2 grating discs; 2mm and 4 mm.
