I think it is safe to say that we are now living in the time for the tablets. With so many options out there it all comes down to what works best for you and how big of a price tag you can afford to pay for your tablet. As you can imagine, I spend a huge amount of time in front of my computer and need to be online pretty much at all times…..I love laptops, but they are not as convenient when you are on the go. I have recently had the opportunity to try the nextbook Premium 7 Tablet from E FUN.
As its name implies, E FUN is a designer and marketer of fun, lifestyle e-products that are easily accessible. While appreciated by techies, E FUN products are primarily designed for consumers who desire the latest technological products, but are more concerned with what they do, not how they do it. E FUN’s ongoing product innovation focuses on making electronics and computing more fun! Initial product offerings from E FUN include the APEN digital pen and Nextbook Android tablets. E FUN is headquartered in West Covina, California.
The first thing I absolutely loved about this Android tablet is the size. The Nextbook Premium Seven features a 7” touch screen and it is equipped with the new android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. There are some major differences between the Android System and the system used for the iPad( I own an iPad also, so I was able to compare), is one the fact that the Android supports Flash while the iPad does not ( that was a big one for me), and the other major difference is that the iPad does have a integrated spell check while the Android does not.
I have to say both me and DH (He is a computer engineer/programmer) are very impressed with the tablet and its functionality. It features a color display and the WiFi is just awesome as it allows you to do pretty much anything you would do from a laptop including surfing the internet, watch movies and play games.
Unlike my Android phone that names the place to find the applications “Android Market”, you will find that the name for it on the Nextbook is called SLIDE ME. And this is where you will find all the applications available for your unit, many of them being free of charge.
You can customize the Home Screen with any images you desire and have the weather forecast right at the tip of your fingers…..And I must say that is really nice to have during this hurricane season! In addition to all the really neat perks that you can get through the different applications available for Android, there is one feature on the Nextbook that makes this little device as handy as can be and that is the fact that you can increase your storage capacity by simply adding a SD card to your device(the Premium7 comes with built-in 4GB memory). Of course, this also means that it allows you to bring with you any documents, videos, photos……that you might need which makes the Nextbook Premium 7 a must have for business trips…..That is so, that DH was showing the device to a neighbor who is going on a business trip and after playing with the device for just a couple of minutes, he wanted to know where to buy one to bring with him…..So we used the device to search for places to buy them locally as he is leaving tomorrow and he mentioned he would propose to buy at least 20 units to his boss….He mentioned that by having the flash application he can have all he needs for his technicians……He was quite impressed with the device and the price ( the retail price for the Nextbook Premium 7 is 300.00). Great product at a great price! The Nextbook is available at selected RETAILERS.
I installed a SD card, just for giggles and to see how to access the information on the card….It could not be easier, if you have let’s say photos, you go to the photos gallery and the device would immediately start porting the pictures on to the device , easy and hassle free!
The more I use the device, the more I like it and quite honestly I can see this little device being a start for the coming Holiday season ( E FUN also offers other devices that range from 200.00 to 300.00). So all you need to do is figure out which device works best for you. These are also great for students and any one that needs a computer while on the go and people that want the convenience of a tablet/eReader. The Nextbook Premium 7 is preloaded with Ebook Store which gives you the ability to buy eBooks directly online without the need of a computer connection.
