If you have a kid between the ages of 2-7, you are probably familiar with a really cute and exciting series named Jake and the Nerverland Pirates (Izzi and Cubby, along with their parrot skully). This show is a music-filled interactive treasure hunt, where Jake and the Never Land Pirates have to stay a step ahead of the mischievous Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, from Disney's classic "Peter Pan." Along the way, the children model teamwork, problem-solving and physical activity that will lead the group to the greatest and most fun adventures in Neverland.
The exciting News? Mark your calendar, Jay and his friends will be featuring a Holiday special. This special episode titled it’s a Winter Neverland in which the crew finds out that Peter Pan has left some Holiday presents and a tree to celebrate Winter Treasure Day, and Hook invites Jake and friends on a winter treasure hunt
The special holiday episode premiers Friday December 2 (8:30-9:00 AM., ET/PT) on Disney Channel of course. The second season of the series will air in January.
Even greater news is the fact that Disney Junior will be solving a very important issue that will bring a very welcome change in the Disney programing for younger children and will offer a brand new standalone 24 – hours Disney Junior channel. It will launch in early 2012 (the current Disney Junior programming block which launched last February on Disney Channel and goes from 4:00 am-2:00 pm on week days and from 4:00-9:00 am ET/PT on weekends.
As a mother of a four year old that loves watching TV after she spend all day in school this is great news as the current options after 4:00 pm are certainly not suitable at least from my point of view and I really can appreciate more programs that are good for younger kids. Thanks a lot Disney Junior!
The ladybug (and myself) are huge fans of Jake and the Neverland Pirates ever since it started and we are looking forward to the special episode and Disney Junior New programming. Hmm… I wonder why she decided to be a pirate this Halloween:)
