I am always on the lookout for new safety products for kids, and Car seats are on top of my list when looking for high safety features.

I have been really interested in trying the Juvenile products now Diono and I was recently offered the opportunity to try the Radian RXT. The Radian RXT is a very versatile Convertible Car Seat available in a series of colors.

The car seat design is very different to the ones I have seen or tried so far. Among the many features that I really liked on the car seat, is the fact that the car seat can be used rear-facing by children from 5-45 lbs, forward-facing children from 20-80 lbs in 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 120 lbs. So this car seat is one for the long run! What makes this car seat different from the others I have tried? For one thing it is the narrowest I have tried, which allows you to place up to 3 car seats in the back of an SUV. Another great Radian feature is the fact that the car seat can actually be folded which makes transportation a lot easier when not placed in the car….Great if you are going on an airplane and taking the car seat with you! The RXT does come with a padded shoulder strap for carrying the car seat, but it is a bit heavy (about 26 pounds), so you might be better of placing in it on a luggage cart, but the strap is always a nice option.

The Radian RXT is built with a steel alloy frame, reinforced sidewalls, adjustable head support and their patented SafeStop® energy absorbing harness for added safety on the car seat. The Radiant RXT is a bit on the heavy side, but that is something you can expect because of the steel alloy frame, but honestly I would rather have the extra protection even if it makes it heavier!

The Diono Radiant RXT also features 5 Harness Height Positions: The different harness slot positions allow the RXT to fit most children comfortably while using the car seat. The harness height adjusts from the back of the seat. Each strap can be removed from the metal splitter plate and rethreaded through the correct harness slot to fit the desired height. The Radiant also has 3 buckle positions for better fit and comfort.

The Radiant RXT also features a SafeStop load-limiting system that needs to be used when installing with LATCH or when using the top tether and your child weighs between 20-40 lbs. Adjustable head support, reinforced for complete side impact safety, energy-absorbing EPS foam panels on all sides, expandable sides (armrests on the Radian can be adjusted in or out depending on your needs). LATCH installation up to 80 lb child, 2 recline positions in forward-facing mode. While the car seat comes with one cup holder, you can add up to four cup holders total. The Radiant RXT retails for 339.99.
