BRITAX DONATES BOOSTER SEATS TO SAFE KIDS

Leader of child passenger safety donates 150 of its newest booster seats to charity

CHARLOTTE, N.C., February 28, 2011 — BRITAX Child Safety Inc. donated 150 of its newest belt-positioning booster seats — the Parkway^® SGL — to Safe Kids USA coalitions across the U.S. to be used in training classes for Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technicians and instructors. Since 2007, BRITAX has donated annually approximately 300 car seats to Safe Kids USA, an organization committed to preventing accidental childhood injury.

BRITAX donated one Parkway SGL for each of the 150 people who installed the booster seat using its new ISOFLEX^TM Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System in the BRITAX display vehicle at the 2010 ABC Kids Expo — the nation’s primary tradeshow for the juvenile products industry held in October. The ISOFLEX system — which secures and stabilizes the booster seat during a crash — can be fastened to the seat in seconds, with two clicks and a quick pull.

“BRITAX is committed to keeping children safe,” said Jon Chamberlain, president of BRITAX. “We’re proud to provide Safe Kids USA with our newest booster seat to help limit vehicle-related injuries and improve awareness and education on proper car seat use and installation.”

The Parkway SGL can easily be converted into a backless booster for older children up to 120 pounds and 63 inches. The seat offers True Side Impact Protection^® — a combination of deep side walls and an adjustable head restraint lined with energy-absorbing EPS foam — that works to transfer energy away from the child during a side impact crash to limit injury. It also features the SecureGuard™ Seat Belt Anchor to help prevent the child from sliding under the lap-belt portion of the safety belt (submarining) during impact, minimizing the risk of abdominal injury.

My Wonderful Walls - Review and Giveaway

I have done quite a few reviews of Kids wall decoration products and companies ….But nothing quite like the products offered from my latest great find in children’s room decoration. The company is called my Wonderful Walls and Michael Goins is the creator of many of the stencil kits found in the store and he is also the company owner.
One of the things that makes My Wonderful Walls different from other companies that I have had the pleasure to reviewing before is that they actually give you the option to use their canvas art that you can personalize and is ready to hang. Another option that I think is a great option and the way I will probably go with the next baby bug’s room is their mural stencil kits which outline the design and you paint yourself!
You can find videos on how to do the paint stencils and photos and ideas of how to decorate the room with the kid’s murals.
My Wonderful Walls features the work of different walls to help you create your dream kids or nursery room. I have to say that I have fallen in love with the different designs the minute I came across the store and I specially fell for the murals and their clocks that are also what makes this company stand out. The selection is simply adorable and their clocks are certainly to die for!
I received the Garden Birdhouse Clock and I have to say that it is just adorable. What I like the best about it, beside of the gorgeous design, is the fact that the clock is actually a canvas….So it is like two items in one! This piece features bright pink flowers, a chocolate brown birdhouse and a pair of sweet songbirds that add color to any little girl’s room. If you want more pieces to add to it, it coordinates perfectly with the art work in their Flower Garden collection which I must add has some really cute pieces to make your little one’s room her dreamed little space!
The panel measures 15” x 20”. Stretched canvas is gallery wrapped so that a frame is not needed. It includes saw tooth hanger on back and requires one AA battery.
Take a look at their fairy art ……I almost want to re-do the ladybug’s room! It is as cute as can be and the prices are really affordable so you can have a baby designer room for a fraction of the money.

The 2011 Bolero Stroller from Zooper -Review.

As you all know I have done reviews for many different strollers and I am always interested in trying new brands and designs in the marketplace. I recently had the chance to try the new release from Zooper. If you are not familiar to the Zooper Brand, let me give you a little introduction to the brand taken from their Facebook page:
As a brand, Zooper is a relative newcomer. Zooper was first introduced in America in 1999 and since then has been competing well with better known names in the stroller business.

Specialty stores, known to set demanding product standards for their merchandise, immediately recognized the quality, value and appeal of Zooper.

In addition to all of this, the line was supported by international fashion design, research and engineering, and a strong, state of the art, ISO certified factory. No wonder the Zooper brand gained swift consumer acceptance in the U.S. and Canada!
I found their store a few weeks ago and wanted to try one of their products…..Lucky little me was sent their latest design, the Bolero design stroller. The 2011 Bolero Stroller from Zooper comes standard with features that are usually only found on premium strollers. You do not have to be looking for accessories; you can get a new stroller and accessories all in one package. Not too shabby!
The Bolero features a lightweight aluminum frame, canopy that combines a UV net, rain cover, and sunshade into one, and the very convenient design eliminates the hassle of separate attachments. The seat offers you one-handed control over the recline, which can be adjusted into four comfortable positions, including completely flat. To my surprise, the canopy still covered the ladybug completely even when the seat is totally reclined!
Each front swivel wheel is equipped with independent suspension to provide a smooth ride, and the horizontal handle bar allows you to control the stroller with one single hand which is always a plus in my book. There are a couple of other features I love in this stroller and that are meant to make parents life a bit easier like the stroller storage which is also easy thanks to the self-standing foldaway design, compact size and simple foldaway hook that makes it easy to collapse…To make it even more comfortable for the parents to carry around, the Bolero also features a handle to carry the stroller around.
One more thing that is great about this stroller is that it comes in a really wide variety of really neat colors, some of them I have not even seen on a stroller before, so you can get something to match your personality and the little passenger as well!
The cup holder is designed to take coffee cups of all sizes, so you can enjoy the afternoon tea with your baby in tow…..Finally someone figured out that a stroller should be for mom as well as baby! More things I loved about the Bolero, the horizontal handles allow you to operate easily with one hand and what parent does not appreciate having a free a free hand while strolling around? There are some other features like the very convenient pocket behind the canopy that allows storage of some of those things you want to have easy access to.

Steam Storm 3000 Review.

If you have been reading this blog, then you know that my place is 90% carpeted. You will probably also know that my husband suffers from really severe allergies, and that I am always looking for products to clean my carpets. Well, while doing a search for cleaning products and tools for carpets, I found Steam Xtream.
Steam Xtream offers steam cleaners that feature different attachments for your different house needs. I was sent the Steam Storm 3000 for this review.

The Steam Storm 3000 meets or exceeds the recommendations in every category that is important to consider when choosing the best steam cleaner your money can buy. After all, it’s your money and you want it to go to something that is quality, dependable and not just a brand name.
Special attention was given to make sure the Steam Storm 3000 had a professional, commercial grade, boiler. It is carefully crafted from stainless steel. This is important for your safety, to allow the water to heat up faster, and to prevent rusting.
The stainless steel boiler has a capacity of 1.6 liters that provides over an hour of continual use. This will provide more than enough time to complete any task from the bathroom to the kitchen to your car. The Steam Storm 3000 has a trigger switch that applies steam only where and when you want it.
Temperature is what steam cleaning is all about. Certain spores, bacteria, pollens and molds are only killed off and removed at specific temperatures. To be efficient, a steam cleaner must be able to produce consistent steam at high temperatures. The industry standard is 240 degrees Fahrenheit; the Steam Storm 3000 was consciously constructed to provide steam at 293 degrees Fahrenheit.
Having enough steam pressure is important for optimal performance, but so is the capability to regulate it. Steam Storm 3000 has the best of both! It offers 3.5 Bars (50 psi) of pressure that can be adjusted down to 1.5 Bars (20 psi). This will ensure that you can determine how much pressure you want to apply in any cleaning situation.
Safety is also of the up most importance. The Steam Storm 3000 is constructed from commercial strength materials. The boiler has a safety valve that releases the remaining pressure once you are finished with your task and helps the unit to cool down quicker.
Finally the Steam Storm 3000 is light weight and very maneuverable. It comes with casters, a long hose, and an extended cord so you can reach the areas you need to clean comfortably. The sturdy handle on top makes carrying it a piece of cake.
My experience with the product:
Setting up the unit was relatively easy and I was able to get all the pieces in place and have it working in a couple of minutes without taking more than a couple of glances at the instructions. After filling up the unit, it takes about 1-2 minutes for the machine to be ready and you can actually hear the water as it gets hot…..Kind of like a boiling water sound. You will find three different buttons on top of the unit, a red one that indicates the machine is not ready yet, the green one to let you know you can start using the machine and a bigger button to power the unit on and off. You will have to look closer to the green button to know when the machine is ready as I found that sometimes it was a bit difficult to realize when it has turned on, but then the steam is a great indicator of when the machine is ready. I just pulled the trigger on the handle a couple of times and started using it when the steam comes out.
One other feature I love is the size of the water tank (1.6 liters) as it allows me to do most of my cleaning without changing the water every so often…..By the way be careful not to take the cap off of the water tank before the unit has cooled down as steam will come out and can burn you if you are not careful. The cord on the unit is really thick for safety and has a nice length.
The Steam storm is really easy to move around and the handle on the top makes it easy to carry around. One thing I wish was different is the handle as it is made of a hard plastic and since you will need to keep it pressed in, in order to release the steam, and after a while of doing this my hand was a little tight. Another thing I would probably change is the fact that the tank material is not see through, so I really don’t know how much water is left in the tank.
One thing I love about it is that it has a compartment on top of the unit where I can store the extra attachments and that is something I have not seen in any other steamer and that is really neat….I do not have to worry about misplacing the attachments, and that is certainly a great feature.The attachments are for cleaning everything from grout lines to toilets to windows to your car, grill and even your kids toys!


The Steam Storm also features a lock for kids safety and when you have a curious and active little one like mine, any safety features are more than welcome. Even though I wouldn’t leave her close to the steam cleaner, it gives me peace of mind knowing that even if she manages to get a hold of it, she wouldn’t be able to get the steamer going.

The B-READY — recent winner of the first “Twiniversity Approved” Stamp Of Approval — is a modular stroller that can be converted from a single child system to a two-child or twin system using any combination of seats, bassinets and infant car seats in 14 configurations. My mom is staying with us and will stay for a few months, which is really nice. She has a really delicate stomach and doesn’t drink the water from the fridge even though we have a filter on it. She doesn’t like the way it tastes and she claims that it makes her sick to her stomach…..So she likes bottle water.
Me on the other hand, I try to stay away from bottled water for a few different reasons with the most important one being that they are really bad for our planet …..Landfills can certainly do better without them, and then we have the cost of the water bottles that can add up really quick. So, when I knew she was coming, I started to look for different options for her and I found a really interesting company called Bobble.
Bobble is a stylish, patented water bottle that filters water as you drink. Bobble’s ingenious and attractive design removes chlorine and organic contaminants from municipal tap water. In doing so, bobble replicates the experience of drinking crisp, clean portable water without incurring the significant costs – environmental and monetary – associated with plastic water bottles.
I loved the design the minute I saw the bottle and even more so, the portability and comfort of having filtrated water on demand without having to worry about the environment. Bobble features a clear body and the filter is located on the cap which comes in a selection of fun colors to match your style.
The bobble is made from recycled plastic and is free of BPA, Phthalates and PVC. A single bobble filter equates to at least 300 water bottles. There are three different sizes available and the price ranges from 8.95 to 12.95 and the filter replacement retails for 6.95 so do the math! It should be replaced every two months or after filtering approximately 40 gallons, or 150 liters, of water.
We have been using bobble for a few days now and we love it, it is a great bottle for on the go, to go to the gym and great for the kids also (it is awesome to have filtrated water on hand at any time). The first time you use it, make sure you fill the bottle, and squeeze the water out and through the filter. Yochi Yochi Shoes- Review and Giveaway.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Yochi Yochi, they wanted me to do a review on their kids shoes….If you have been following this blog, you know I LOVE shoes, no matter if they are grown up or babies shoes and I am always willing to try new shoe lines and designs and after taking a look at the Yochi Yochi Fun shoes I was really interested in learning more about them.

The ladybug is a big shoe fan…..I wonder why? She really enjoys squeaky shoes and I have to say that knowing where the little ones are is a big relief. This is especially true when we are in crowded places not to mention the many smiles we get from people as we go.
These shoes are really cute and made of high quality nylon, with comfortable insides to keep your child's feet cozy. The velcro closures make them quick and easy to put on, which is always a nice feature on kids shoes. The shoes also feature durable rubber soles and retails for just 14.95.
I picked the Princes Sakura for the ladybug and the adorable pink panda was a hit as soon as it arrived! Princess Sakura is available in sizes 3 through 8. Please keep in mind that the shoes are made of Nylon and the size runs a little on the small size, so make sure you take that into consideration when buying your shoes.
The Yochi Yochi designs are cute and fun and any kid will love the squeaky shoes that would also make a great birthday present.

Bar Stools ....My new search!

I am back home from both my trips and now it is time to get back to work and start the preparation for the mother’s day event and some house work…..I have been trying to find adjustable bar stools for the counter table and what I thought would be a very simple task has proved me wrong! Luckily I was able to find the style I was looking for at the CSN store All Bar Stools. Kolcraft Review and Silent Auction! from February 10th- February 20th.

I have reviewed a few different styles and brands of strollers, but so far no double strollers and I was really interested in trying a double stroller. This is the reason why I was really excited when Kolcraft gave me the chance to try the Jeep Traveler Tandem.
The stroller is really easy to set up and filled with many neat features that with an infant and a toddler on board, you will be sure to appreciate. The stroller only comes in tan color with yellow trims so its gender neutral….Great that you do not have to worry about the stroller’s color if you have a boy and a girl.
The Tandem features a large basket that is really east to access ….With two kids you will appreciate all the storage space you can get, the toddler seat is really comfortable and very easy for the older kids to get on to. The rear seat accommodates your most popular infant car seat brands, one less thing to worry about.
My favorite feature is the Tandem’s car seats ability to face many different directions, but this is not the only feature that is meant to make a parent’s life easy. The Tandem also features a Child tray with tilting toy steering wheel and dual cup juice holder. Another favorite is the smart handle that adjusts to 3 height positions and let’s not forget about the Sunrider canopies which adjusts to 5 different positions to block the sun. How about the fact that the stroller folds really compact for a double stroller, I have to say I was really surprised with this nice little fact.
As I mentioned before there are many great features on the Tandem and the price is most certainly one of the big plus items on this stroller, it retails for about 220.00. The weight capacity is of 40 pounds per kid, so I think you’d be good to go up to a 4 year old.
The stroller was made with all the parents on the go needs like Sippy cup holder or snack holder for the little ones, or drink holder for the parents. The Tandem is a great product at a really reasonable price.
