I have been traveling a lot this year and one of the things that can be very tedious is not being comfortable while you are traveling. This is the reason why I try to have a very comfortable travel pillow each time I travel… The last thing I want is a sore neck or back because of the way I sit on the airplane ride and if you are like me and travel on coach….You know how difficult being comfortable can be and you can apply the same to long car trips.
A few weeks ago I came across the SHEEX Website. SHEEX specializes in performance bedding. I had the chance to try the SHEEX Mini Travel Pillow. The Mini Travel Pillow comes in plastic zipper case, great for storing your pillow when not in use and prevents it from getting dirty. The pillow features the same SLEEP•FIT Technology found in the Sheex bedding. The material used for the pillow is really soft and included with the pillow is a pillow case that feels great to the touch.
The pillow is a very convenient size, so it is really easy to pack in your carry-on luggage. I’ve had the  travel pillow for a few weeks now, and even though I have not been on a plane since I received the pillow, it is great as a nap pillow and to bring along as I said before on long car rides. The pillow is super comfortable and you know I am extra picky when it comes to pillows because of my back issues!

Nutrisystem.......Getting back in Shape! Week Three.

As you all know I started the Nutrisystem blogger program and I love it! I lost 6lbs. in the first two weeks of the program. This past week was definitely not my best week, but I have to admit that it was not because of the program…I was sick most of the week and couldn’t work out and my water consumption was not what it was supposed to be. Plus I ate a couple of things that were not on my diet…I had a migraine that lasted several days and was coupled with an upset stomach…..
As I mentioned last week I truly believe that the success I am having with the program is a combination of the food and exercise and water plays a very important part on the whole process….This past week I confirmed that to get the results I am looking for, I need to stick to my diet plan and work a little harder to lose the 2 lbs. I gained this week and get back on track.
To help me achieve that, Nutrisystem has the Mindset Makeover program for Nutrysistem program and this great program gives you tips and information on how to stick to your plan and follow the guidelines provided by Nutrisystem and their team.

Britax Tips and Advices on Car Seat safety and Latch Systems

If you are planning on going on vacations with little ones this summer or even if you are not going on vacations but have a small child, there are some tips and advices on Car seat safety and latch systems that I just recently had access to and found they are very interesting and informative and certainly something worth sharing with you all!

There’s been a lot of cyber-chatter recently about how child seats are anchored (aka “latched”) to the car seat — and the safety of some LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) systems.  Since more than 80 percent of car seats are installed incorrectly by parents — and since Memorial Day also marks the beginning of the summer travel season — now is a good time to double-check that specific latching mechanism and how your car seat is installed.

Most cars and car seats manufactured after 2002 must have lower anchors and tethers to attach the child seat to the vehicle. While anchorage systems vary, all are designed to minimize the movement of both the car seat and your child in the event of a crash.  The Britax LATCH system is easy to install, with release mechanisms that are secure, strategically placed and inoperable by young hands or feet.  For details about how to install the LATCH, please watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=larsTDPgHlI&feature=related

Once you secure the anchors, verify that your child’s seat is properly installed by pushing it front-to-back and side-to-side.  If the seat does not move more than one inch, the car seat is securely installed in your vehicle.

Despite the best efforts of parents to follow installation instructions, most install car seats incorrectly.  To be safe, we urge you visit your local Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician to certify that your child seat is properly installed.  To find a CPS near you visit www.safekids.org.

This is what really sets these shoes apart from any other shoes I’ve had the chance to wear. What really makes these shoes one of a kind is a clever system of air ducts in the soles that pumps large amounts of air into the shoes' interior; they also absorb and remove any moisture which might form!
I had the chance to try the Marilyn design and I have to say that the shoes were extremely comfortable from day one, but they only got better as the days went by. The Marilyn is a Mary Jane style shoe with Velcro adjustable straps. The Joya shoes look a lot like rocker shoes, but they are not.
The Joya shoes cushioning give the sensation of walking on marshmallows……Not That I have walked on Marshmallows before, but I bet this is pretty much the way it would feel….Really comfortable and I have found the shoes provide me with great support. Remember this is coming from someone with completely flat feet and that makes a big difference when looking for comfortable shoes….So these shoes are really comfortable and great for people that have to work on their feet….I wish I had this when I was working at the hotel!

Studies about Joya

To investigate the influence of Joya shoes on people’s gait when walking, and to study the forces acting on their feet, the Biomechanics Institute at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) carried out a study using a gait analysis. This study involved twelve test subjects and looked into the sequence of movements when walking barefoot, in Joyas, in KyBoots and in MBTs. The analysis used high-speed video recordings of foot strike, kinetic measurements of the ground reaction force and kinematic measurements of body position and movement.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology’s results speak in favour of Joya:

1. In the first heel-strike phase, the cushioning effect of the Joya sole reduces the forces affecting the body considerably (by a factor of 2 to 5) compared with walking/running barefoot.
2. Joya produces a far greater range of motion as the sole’s soft, supple structure makes it very yielding. When we walk barefoot on an uneven, natural surface (on sand, uphill, downhill, etc.), the range of motion is also naturally larger. The soft, supple structure of the sole makes it likely that more effort will be required, more energy burned and the muscles will get more exercise.
3. In Joya shoes, motion graphs generally follow a smoother track (less jerky) than in conventional shoes.
4. No difference was found between the Karl Müller shoes and the round-sole shoes when it came to upper body posture.

Summer Infant Must Have Disposables Products - Review and giveaway.

I had the chance to review one of their bassinets a few months ago and after such a good experience with their products I was really looking forward to working with them again and I recently had the chance to do just so.
Among the many products offered by the brand you can find a wide selection of disposable products of which I had the chance to try a few of.
One of my main concerns when I am out with the ladybug and she needs to go to the bathroom is that public bathrooms can be such a big focus of bacteria and diseases that I always put one of those paper toilet covers on the toilet seat before she sits on it, but as you should know, you can’t find them all the time and I honestly do not know how safe those really are, so I was very happy to try a product that has proven to be a great solution for those occasions. The Keep Me Clean Disposable Potty Protectors are made of a biodegradable, soft material and comes in an extra-large size so kids of any age can use them and they also offer extra protection for the kid’s bottoms. Their hands are protected as well as the protector drapes over the front of toilet and sides where children hold on to, preventing them from touching the toilet. The Cover has small pieces of tape to help keeping it in place and they come in a resalable bag which makes it easier to carry them around….A definite must have for parents with kids 18 months and up!
The Keep Me Clean Disposable Bibs are made of 80% calcium powder - an element found in nature and they are biodegradable and the material is very soft to the touch….The Bibs feature a crumb-catcher pocket and adhesive strip holds bib in place. This is a great alternative for regular bibs with the convenience that when you are done with them you just need to throw them away…..No more stained bibs or drawers filled with them. These are great for home or on the go.
Have you ever gone to a restaurant only to find out that they do not have any place mats for kids…..I never liked the ladybug to be on a bare table/high chair, because you never know how clean those really are and with so many diseases going around I like being a little extra careful….I don’t consider myself over protective, but I like to prevent and Summer infant has a product that is great to have in your diaper bag for those times that you find yourself in these situations. Born 2 Impress Pampered Mom Event- LaVaque Tweezers Review and Giveaway.

Finding a good pair of tweezers can be a little difficult sometimes…I am very particular on my Tweezers. For one thing, I am usually running all day, so when I do get the chance to pluck my eyebrows I need a pair of tweezers that are precise and that allow me to do what I need as quick and effective as possible.

Nutrisystem.......Getting back in Shape! Week Two.

This is the second week since I started the Nutrisystem blogger program and I could not be happier with the results…..I have lost 6 pounds since I started! The program is just great and by the first week I have adapted to the smaller portions of foods and drinking as much water as possible. They recommend to take about 8 glasses of water a day, sometimes I take up to 12 glasses and that also helps me to stay away from food. Included with my food from Nutrisystem was a 32oz bottle. You need to drink that amount twice a day and the bottle makes it easier to keep track of the water you are taking in. Then all you need to do is to fill and drink the bottle twice a day. I make sure that as soon as the bottle is empty I re-fill it and keep it right next to me.
The truth is that by keeping track of my food, exercise, and calorie consumption, I am more motivated to keep up with the program and exercising more regularly than what I have been doing for a long time and the workout is definitely a big help ( have to love my boxing classes). I found myself less inclined to break my diet and have been paying more attention to the food I eat even when I am out of the house.
One of the things I love about Nutrisystem, besides the program and online support and the deserts….. Is the variety of food that allows me to eat lasagna, pizza and many others of my favorite foods! I have completely stopped drinking coke (this is huge and something I never thought I could do), but I still drink my morning coffee. With Nutrisystem online log forms, you can see how many calories you are taking with Nutrisystem food and regular food and the great thing about this, is that it allows you to see the difference in calories and makes you (at least that is my case) more careful on what and how you eat!
I have been eating mostly the Nutrisystem foods and on those occasions that I felt I wanted something different, I used the chart of recommended foods and portions and it worked out really good. I have also substituted any snacks for fruits or Nutrisystem snacks.

The towels are made with 100% premium Turkish Cotton. I was a little concerned that the color would fade away really easy, but I have washed my towels quite a few times and they look pretty much just the same maintaining the deep red color that I liked so much.
These bath towels are very stylish and elegant, really plush, and the thick closely woven double-loops make these top quality bath towels really nice and soft to the touch. I can be very picky when it comes to towels, but I could not say one negative thing about these towels ….Actually they felt even better after I washed them.
