As mothers, we want safe, gentle ingredients in our daughters' products. Clean, healthy, and happy, those are the communication messages our girls should be getting. They don't need to be bombarded with beauty standards and imagery that are inappropriate for girls 7-14.
I came across their store just a few days ago and loved the concept and the line of products. So even though the lady bug is not a Tween yet, I was really interested in learning more about the products they offer. I had the chance to try the Ottilie & Lulu Feel Good Shampoo & Body Wash and it is a pleasant minty fragrance and sensation. The ladybug spends a lot of time in the water (shower and pool) so taking care of her hair and skin is a must. The Ottilie & Lulu Feel Good Shampoo & Body Wash contains oat kernels, chamomile, wheat and jojoba proteins, citrus, and Vitamin C which is a very interesting combination, but more importantly, it is working great for my little bug’s hair and skin. I have found that the combination use of the Shampoo with the Ottilie & ; Lulu Shiny Silky Detangler &  Conditioner is helping me to keep those crazy curls under control and her hair looks healthier even though I have only had the chance to use the product on her a couple of times. I was able to see some really promising results right away.
The creamy detangler goes a long ways and it is made with great ingredients like avocado, jojoba, and aloe. I think it is Great for getting knot free hair and care for the girl’s hair all at once. As with the shampoo, the conditioner has a really calming and refreshing mint scent. Both the conditioner and shampoo come in 8 fl oz/236.5 ml bottles and retail for 14.00 each.
I also had the chance to try the Ottilie & Lulu Body Glow Lotion. As I mentioned before my bug loves spending time in the water , so I need to go an extra mile to keep her skin hydrated so I need a something more than baby cream, but do not really want a grown up cream. The the glow lotion is the perfect middle ground for us and since the formula is rather gentile I decided to try it on her, again we have just been using the products for a few days, but I am certainly loving the results so far.The Ottilie & Lulu Body Glow Lotion contains anti-oxidants to relieve environmental stress, vitamins to nourish, and botanicals to soothe skin. And retails for 14.00.
The last product I tried was the Ottilie & Lulu Clean Skin Face Wipes. With this I have a little confession to make….This I actually kept for myself, the light scented wipes are awesome to freshen up during the day and even before going to bed at night. The wipes comes in a resalable package ( plastic lid), that allows you to easysily carry them in your purse for a quick freshen up along your day…Specially when you are running around in the hot Florida Weather like is my case. The wipes retails for 10.00 and has 30 wipes.

Nutrisystem.......Getting Back in Shape! Week 11.

This is week 11 with the Nutrisystem blogger program and as you all know, I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and have not been able to go to the gym like I usually do and have actually been forced to be less active than what I would like to. By the same token, I get really stressed by not being able to do the things and exercises ……stress is really not a good thing when I am on a diet because I end up eating more, so I came up with a really good trick for those times that I “need” to munch on something. I bought a package of frozen fruits and snack on them if I feel the urge to eat something. I leave them in the freezer and eat them frozen. It takes me longer to eat them, and they are really refreshing. I think this is a really good trick for this hot summer.
I have also made sure I have my water bottle filled at all times so I have acess to it whenever I feel like eating or drinking something. I think that setting up a goal is very important and sharing the progress with other people is also very motivating.
Nutrisystem has a series of cute widgets that let’s you track and share your progress and I am setting up one as an extra incentive even though, the biggest incentive I have is how my clothes are all big on me. I know that might sound silly, but for someone that is trying to lose weight, that is huge!
I have planned my whole meal for today and that includes, my daily black cup of coffee, a breakfast burrito, Cheese tortellini for lunch and one of my favorites will be the dinner: Wedge potatoes with sliced beef steak.
So far I have lost 9.5 libs…..I am hoping to be able to go back to the gym this next Monday and get back on the right track!

Cinzia Designs - Review and Giveaway.

As you all know, I wear glasses and have been wearing them since I was a little over 5 years old, so you can say that glasses are pretty much a part of me. I usually take them off a few times during the day and since I am always trying to multi task, I usually don’t remember where I put them last….And you will hear me ask the ladybug: baby do you know where mommies’ glasses are? Which is OK. Unless you are trying to rush somewhere, need to drive and can’t drive without the glasses!
So I thought that I needed to find a way to take my glasses off and still remember where they are at any time and that is when I found Cinzia Design.

I am not a fan of the traditional glasses holders, but Cinzia offers a very stylish selection of eyewear necklaces that are very trendy and cute so they do not look anything like the traditional ones and I loved them the minute I saw them! And if you do prefer the traditional design, they also offer those with a refreshing and fun twist that makes them really nice and fun.
I had the chance to try the Ouzo design and I have to say they do look really nice. The Ouzo has a Black Plastic Pendant that hangs from Black Seed Beads, a Black and White Striped Matte Ball, Chrystal Ringlets, Clear Glass and White Mountain Jade makes the necklace a really nice and useful addition to my wardrobe. The Ouzo also features a magnetic clasp that makes putting on and taking off the necklace as easy as can be. The Ouzo retails for 90.00 at the Cinzia online store.
Cinzia offers a lot more than the eyewear holders and that includes readers, ophthalmic eyewear and my favorite….Sunglasses.
I was given the opportunity to also try one of their sunglasses and selected a few of my favorites and from this they sent me the Telly design. This design is a great combination between modern and classic. The glasses combine the classic black with a white….kind of shell finish on the edges and the back of the glasses and they have a modern circular shape that gives the sunglasses a kind of retro look while keeping them in a tasteful and stylish line. Then they gave the finishing touch with the silver piece that connects the frame with the stem and the 2 small metal pieces that attach them together. Stylish and trendy is what these sunglasses are.
The Telly looks like one of those very expensive designer sunglasses but with just a fraction of what you expect to pay for designer glasses. The Telly retails for 180.00......Did I mention they have some really cute accessories also?

HALO ComfortLuxe Sleepwear- Review and Giveaway

For whatever strange reason, the ladybug seems to get very hot and would rather spend the time she is home just wearing her underwear which is really not acceptable for a 4 year old that is going to start school is a few weeks! Well if I have an issue getting her to wear clothes during the day, just imagine how it is to get her to wear pajamas!
I was shopping for comfortable and breathable PJ’s when I found the Halosleep site and their new HALO® ComfortLuxe™ Sleepwear and thought this might be the answer I was looking for. The HALO® ComfortLuxe™ Sleepwear is meant for little ones with sensitive skin. The fabric outperforms cotton by wicking away moisture and regulating your little one’s temperature.
When I received the pajama set for the ladybug (a really cute bubblegum color with a little unicorn design on the front), I was so sure it was going to work because the fabric felt a little odd when I touched it….The reality is that the outside feels a little funny, but it is actually really soft in the inside making the pajamas really comfortable. One more thing I really like is the fact that the PJ's are tag-less, the bug doesn't like tags!
The fabric is really light weight and dries up very fast, both very important especially when you live in a warm weather place like south Florida. Sticky heavy clothing is not what you want to go to sleep in.
The best part is that the ladybug loves her pajamas and this is the only PJ’s she will wear! My only complaint about the PJ’s is that the largest size they have is a size 4t which is the bug’s size right now…..This unfortunately means I will have to be looking for pajamas for her really soon again!

Nutrisystem.......Getting back in Shape! Week 10.

This is week 10 in the Nutrisystem Blogger program. As I mentioned in my last post, I hurt myself a few days ago….I had to go to the doctor and they prescribed a really strong muscle relaxant that keeps me drugged most of the day and I have not been able to work out or do much for that matter…Actually I am writing before I take my next pill cause I am pretty much done the minute I take it. So no gym this last week and probably for the next couple of weeks (I might need to take physical therapy the doctor said).
Anyway, this week’s Mindset Makeover is all about social support and how to ask people to help you to reach your goal. I personally think that it is a very important part of the program. I have talked about how great the nutrisystem staff member have been while people around you play an even greater role in your weight loss journey.
So far I have lost 8.5 lbs. with the Nutrisystem program and exercise, but I have done more than just taking off weight. I have been building up muscle and more importantly……Loosing inches! It feels good to pull your pants up again…..I know it might sound silly, but that is a very good way to see my progress! It is also a great inspiration to continue with my diet.
I have to say that sticking to your diet can be hard at times; just make sure you have healthy food on hand, so if you do slip a little it is not that bad.

KICKER Performance Audio products are designed and manufactured by Stillwater Designs, headquartered in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The firm began in 1973 as a two-person operation, hand-building professional sound and musical instrument speaker systems for churches, auditoriums, and entertainers. Building upon the success of the Original KICKER, the company concentrated on the mobile-audio market, applying the same successful research and design skills to the development of a complete line of high-performance components for car audio.

I found their store just a few weeks ago while doing a search for headphones and was really interested in the KICKER products, I contacted the company and they agreed to work with me on a review of a couple of their products, so they sent me the TJ Lavin Series DJ Style Headphones. The headphones, the HP541TJ Headphones feature Microphone boast tonal accuracy and bass response and they have full-range audio….The sound quality is unbeatable. To test them I used my iPod shuffle ( the smallest design) and the results are just great !
The headphones come with different interchangeable attachments so it can be used with different sound units (1/8-inch corrosion-resistant, gold-plated and 1/4-inch gold-plated removable) and two sizes of cable (53-inch, standard cable and 11-1/2-foot, studio-ready cable).…And that includes the iPod shuffle even though you can hardly noticed the tiny device attached to the headphones. The HP541TJ feature an in-line microphone and multi-function button: answer/end/mute call, play/pause and track forward/back for media, activate voice command (functions vary with each Smart Phone).
The ear pads are very comfortable and block noises out ….This is really a nice set of headphones and they also feature design art produced by BMX legend and MTV host TJ Lavin. The HP541TJ’s over-ear, full-swivel ear cups are very lightweight and extremely comfortable which is probably one of my favorite features. HP541TJ Headphones also interact with all KICKER Docking Systems, which are compatible with iPhone, iPod or Zune devices. Retail price is 149.00
I also had the chance to try the iKICK350 iPhone/iPod Dock. The compact dock station is sturdy and easy to carry around. The ik350 features a powerful amplifier with Digital Sound Processing. I have to say I was very impressed with the sound quality and how loud this small dock station can get….Perfect for our summer family escapades to the pool. The iKICK350 fits Fits all iPhones and 4th-gen. or newer dockable iPods. I used my iPhone to test it and again , I was really impressed with sound quality.
The iK350 features Composite Video Output which allows you view video content on larger screens. It has auxiliary-Input that connects to other MP3 players, satellite radio, computers, or CD players. The iK350 comes with a small and light weight remote control and to make it completely portable Kicker offers you a separate battery that allows you to bring your music with you everywhere you go (as with any rechargeable battery, make sure to fully charge it before the first use). The iK350 includes a useful magnetic storage bay for stowing the remote, and a convenient integrated carry handle.
The compact size, sleek modern design and sound quality makes the iKICK350 a must have for this summer. Retail price: 229.95. Battery retails for 129.95 and they are available at the KICKER store and authorized retailers across the country.

Parents On the Go Will Love the New Britax Baby Carrier- Review and Giveaway

When searching for kids gear there are some brands that I just can’t help but start with whenever I am looking for a product because I know how good it is with quality, function and even the design and that is precisely the case with Britax.
I have been able to try some different products from Britax going from stroller, to infant car seat, to now a toddler car seat and in each opportunity and in each occasion Britax has met my very high expectations and I am now a big Britax fan. No matter which Britax product we are talking about, I love the craftsmanship, the quality, but most of all I love the safety features offered by Britax products.
There were some products that I wanted /hoped Britax would carry but that were not in their catalog. Well it’s now 2011 and it has been a great year for Britax new products and one of the new products that just launched in the last few weeks is the Britax Baby Carrier.
This new member of the Britax family features an ergonomic and sleek design that is not only very comfortable, but is also very versatile….The Britax baby carrier allows you to face your baby inward towards you or outward to face the world and this is great for when the little ones start to get curious about their surroundings!
The carrier can be used with infants from eight pounds to toddlers up to 32 pounds which gives you a huge margin of time to use the carrier. As expected from a Britax product, quality and craftsmanship is impeccable.
One of my favorite features on this carrier, is the CarryLong System (padded waist belt and shoulder straps), which reduces the risk of back and shoulder strain during extended wear by distributing weight across the shoulders, back and hips.
The carrier also features Padded Leg Openings to protect your baby’s legs. It has an open and contoured design for breathability and temperature management and a simple slip on and off design. The one-Handed Buckles and Snaps allow you to get your child in and out of the carrier easily. It also allows you to adjust harness straps from the front of the carrier for proper customized fit, and one more feature I just love is the excess belt storage bands that eliminate loose straps!
The carrier is machine washable and comes with a 100% cotton Machine washable bib to protect the carrier from stains(the bib is white which allows you to see any stains easily). The carrier also has an adjustable head support to provide head and neck stability for younger infants and leg loops to reduce the size of leg openings for 8-11 pound infants for a more secure fit... So as you can see, Britax really did their homework with this baby carrier.

Baroni Jewelry - Review and Giveaway.

I found their website just a few weeks ago and love the simplicity in most of the designs offered by Baroni. I was given the opportunity to try a set of two of their adorable pieces of jewelry. I received the P-N-131-SILV Hinged Pearl Charm, Ball Chain Necklace, and matching earnings for this review . My necklace unlike the one in this picture came with only one charm( the central inlaid Pearl pendant).
This set is very simple yet delicate and beautifully crafted. The necklace is very elegant and features a freshwater pearl displayed on a sterling silver base. The very thin chain and small pearl pendant makes this necklace the perfect accessory to accentuate any casual and even evening outfit. It also makes a really nice necklace for a girl/teenager.
The earrings feature Freshwater pearls wrapped in sterling silver bezels in locking-back ear wires. The beautiful earrings are just the perfect size to catch the eye without being obnoxious. The set is gorgeous in its simplicity.

Nutrisystem.......Getting back in Shape! Week Nine.

This is Nutrisystem blogger program week number nine. I fell in the kitchen on Monday and really hurt myself when I did, so I was not able to excersice at all.....This is also why I am a bit behind on my posts and updates this week. I managed to hurt both wrists,my left leg, three toes and my back.... I know......lucky me!
I was concerned that by not exercising I might gain a bit of weight back but some how I managed to still lose 1/2 pound this week, which in my opinion is pretty good. One of the things I get as part of the program is weekly emails as part of what Nutrisystem calls "Mindset Makeover" basically guides you and prepares you to follow your own goals.
These weekly "steps” can all be found at the Nutrisystem website as you "get" to that particular week, it also allows you to access all the previous weeks which is a great way to refresh your memory as of what and how to keep going with your diet.
I have mentioned before that one of the best things I receive from Nutrisystem ( besides the yummy food) is the support and guidance I recieve from them and that is a huge part of my success. It is also one I will never forget as a great experience from this program.

Boba Carriers- Summer Must Have for Parents on the Go!

While doing a little research on different baby carriers, I came across the Boba website and the design of their baby carriers caught my attention right away. Boba is part of NAP Inc (same company as the sleepy wraps that I reviewed a few months back, to see the review click HERE).
Boba is locally made in Boulder Colorado using GOTS and OE1OO certified organic cotton. There are a lot of features of this organic baby carrier that I can’t help but love: The Boba Organic baby carrier unlike most carriers which are meant for kids up to 30 pounds is actually meant for kids 1-4 years of age (15-45 lbs / 7-20 kg).
One size fits most adults, so you don’t have to have a carrier for mommy and one for daddy, the carrier can be used in the front or in the back which I personally love (remember my back issues?). The carrier is machine washable; it also features a high back for better support comfort. It has a really thick waist and shoulder strap foam and is very easy to set up and get on. One feature that I think is great and have not seen in any other carrier so far, is the foot straps for extra leg and hip support that are attached to the waist belt which allows older kids to be in a more comfortable and more healthy sitting position. The foot strap can be adjusted and also removed.
The Boba carrier has a wide seat, which makes it more wrap like and is also more comfortable for the little one sitting in it. It’s also a great way to breast feed while in the front position.
