The ladybug  started school this year and I am overly excited….But not nearly as much as she is, so I want to make sure I have everything she will need ahead of time. I have been doing a lot of shopping for the things she is going to need during the school year and that of course includes clothing. I visited one of my all-time favorite kids store, Tea Collection and of course they have the most adorable outfits ever. I have worked with Tea before and it is one of those stores I check regularly to stay up to date with the new designs…..I can’t tell you how many compliments we get when the ladybug wears one of their designs.

Tea started in 2002 in San Francisco with three pima cotton sweaters. Now, they offer two full assortments, Tea Collection and Daily Tea, available in more than 400 high-end stores including Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Takashimaya, and the best boutiques throughout the US and abroad.

For those of you that have never heard of Tea collection, let me be the first to introduce you to this great children's clothing store. Tea offers an amazing, colorful and trendy selection with designs for boys, girls, and their baby clothes line (0-24 months).

The designs are just adorable, but what I like the most, is that they are comfortable, fresh and the kind of clothing my ladybug will be happy to wear at any time. She can look as cute as a button and play and run freely. I love that combination when it comes to the bug’s wardrobe and now that she is going to spend most of her day in school, this is exactly what I need for her.

I picked four different dresses for her….I must say that they are having an awesome sale and their products are going QUICK! So check it out  and don't miss the sale.

I had the chance to try the Playa Plaid Dress which is an adorable button down dress made with 100% cotton. The dress features a plaid design with different tones of brown in an off white background. Comfortable, hip and simple yet very cute at the same time, this is the kind of dress a little girl can use with sandals during the summer and then add a jacket, leggings and boots when the temperature goes down and be as comfortable and cute as can be.

Artista Wrap Dress fashionable and modern design, the Artista Wrap Dress brings to memory abstract painting designs full of colors and forms. The dress is also made with 100% imported cotton and as the Playa dress it is very comfortable. The Artista Wrap dress features a back tied ribbon to accentuate the design and it has a really attractive mix of green, gray, orange and navy blue. It is very chic and certainly a great addition to any little girl’s closet.

The third dress is the Flamenco Dot Pocket Dress. This very fresh sleeveless navy blue and white tiny dots dress features a pull over style with front pocket detail. The comfort and ease to use makes this dress great for a day on the beach, the pool or just a walk in the park. The design allows you to wear it as it is or add a long sleeve tee underneath when the temperature drops. Cute and simple, the dress features an elastic waist band that gives a playful touch to the design.

The last but not least dress I picked for the ladybug is the Marimba Mini Dress that comes in either Indigo or Surf. I picked the Surf which is a gorgeous Deep blue color…I dare to say it is like a turquoise, and has a beautiful bright green design in the front of the dress that complements and make this design one of my very favorites!

The dress features two front pockets and no sleeves, and like with the rest of the dresses I picked from Tea, the Marimba Mini dress is very comfortable. The Marimba dress is made of soft cotton jersey and has a Mid-thigh length. This dress is just the perfect dress for the summer days!

Andrea Professional Hair Removal Products - Review and giveaway.

When I lived in Spain, I used to have my wax done twice a month and even sooner if could I get away with it. But then the wax was significantly cheaper there than what it is here, so after I moved here, I had to cut my trips to have my waxing done significantly. So of course I am always looking for alternatives to get rid of unwanted hair without hurting my wallet.

Andrea Professional Hair removal products are a great alternative to get rid of unwanted hair at a very reasonable price. I was given the opportunity to try two of the Andrea Professional Hair removal products. The Andrea Professionals Facial Wax Strips are very easy to use, hassle free, and recommended for normal to coarse hair for all skin types. The first thing I have to say is that for better results you are better off reading the instructions……To apply the strips, you need to warm the wax by rubbing the strips between your hands.

Cut the strip in the desired size, then apply it against the skin and pull against the hair direction. I have tried many of these kinds of products when I lived in Spain and they didn’t really work for me, but I was nicely surprised to discover that this was not the case with the Andrea Facial wax strips and they do work like a charm! I have used them a few times on my lip and eyebrows with great results. True I have to touch up with tweezers when done, but the lady who I pay to do my waxing does it also so, not a problem……Let’s also not forget that these will cost about 20.00 if I go to a wax salon and the strips retail for 6.99 for a package with 24 strips( 12 double strips). In the box is also included a small bottle of Azulene oil (provides relief of redness and irritation while removing any excess wax) and easy-to-follow instructions. SloGrow™ Lotion, a new addition to the kit, is meant to help to further minimize the appearance of new hair, soothe and condition the skin, and extend time between waxing. So do the math!

I also had the chance to try the Andrea Professionals Brazilian Hard Wax. This is the same type of wax my esthetician in Spain uses and I loved the results then and love the results now. The wax is very easy to use and if you follow the instruction and heating and the heating chart included in the package, you should have no problems…..I have recently bought another brand’s waxing system and spent a few dollars buying the wax, trips, spatulas……Let’s just say that my intention was to do the bikini line with it and not once was I able to do it properly, but I did manage to burn myself. The Andrea Brazilian Hard Wax is easier, less messy, and is much more effective. So I am very happy with my find! The Brazilian Hard Wax kit retails for 12.99 and contains 113 g of wax; two spatulas, pre-epilation oil, SloGrow™ Lotion and easy-to-read instructions with heating chart…Again, do the math!

Liberty Sport Protective Sports Eyewear- Review and Giveaway

Liberty Sport was founded in 1929 as a manufacturer of plastic and metal ophthalmic frames.
In 1978 they introduced the world's first prescription sports goggle under the Rec Specs line of protective sports eyewear.

For over 30 years Liberty Sport has been at the forefront of a national movement encompassing health professionals, educators and the private sector to prevent eye injuries in sports and recreational activities.

In 2000, in response to the changing optical market, Liberty Sport sold its ophthalmic frames division to concentrate solely on the prescription sports market – designing and distributing protective sports and sun performance eyewear.
Practicing sports is very import, and equally important is to practice any sport with the correct protection. We are a fairly sporty family (especially DH who practices golf, soccer, and every now and then likes to go scuba diving), so he practices at least one or two of these sports every week.
Living in Florida, sun protection is a must and if you practice a sport like golf that will have you under the sun for a several hours, it is just the smartest choice along with the sun screen of course. I was given the opportunity to try a few different products from the Liberty sport catalog and of course sunglasses for DH was my first choice.
He had the chance to try two different designs offered by Liberty Sports, the Eagle was his first choice, the modern and sleek design sun glasses feature an 8-base wrap around a rimless lightweight design, with large soft ribbed nose pads for extra comfort, the glasses provide full coverage lens design with Comfort-Grip soft temple tips. He thought these were perfect for playing golf. The Plano frame comes with Ultimate Play polycarbonate premium performance sun lenses which feature a Hard Coat Premium Scratch Coating, and 100% UVA & UVB Protection. The Eagle comes in 3 different colors and 5 different sizes to offer the best fit possible.
The Eagle sunglasses are not only very attractive in their design, but also very comfortable. The glasses come with a semi-rigid case and adjustable strap.
The other design DH was able to try was the Liberty Spots Glide sunglasses design. The glide design is actually a unisex 6-Base frame, so they are a smaller sizing in order to fit both men and women. The Glide which is offered in 4 different colors and 5 different sizes provides with a great peripheral vision.
The Glide features hugging temple design frame for extra comfort. The Glide design is also modern and sleek with a little more conservative feel. This was DH’s favorite as he claimed he was able to wear them the whole time he was playing and then some…He enjoyed wearing them on the boat while fishing as well as golfing. The glasses were also a big hit among his fellow golfer friends who asked him about the brand and were to buy the glasses.
Both designs are very light which makes the prolonged use of them really easy. The Glide features Plano frame comes with Liberty Sport Ultimate Play or Outdoor Sun Lenses, hard Coat Premium Scratch Coating, and 100% UVA & UVB Protection.
There are 4 different lenses offered for this design:


• Ultimate Outdoor Polycarbonate
• Ultimate Play Polycarbonate
• Ultimate Polarized Contrast Polycarbonate
• Ultimate Polarized Neutral Polycarbonate


The Glide comes with semi-rigid case, cleaning cloth, cleaning cloth pouch for eye cups and adjustable cord.
The third item we had the chance to try was the JOURNEY design which features polarized lenses (ultimate polarized lens #2) and a really nice and modern design. The JOURNEY is available in 3 different colors and they only offered the polarized or regular option on the lenses(only the shiny black/shiny tortoise color is offered with the polarized lenses) . This pair I kept as it is perfect for riding bikes and even though the glasses offer a great sun protection, the lenses have a brown tint that is not too dark which is great for me, since I wear prescription glasses. When I wear sunglasses that are too dark I will get a headache for sure.
The glasses are light and very comfortable, the stems are long enough to go past your ears and provide a really good grip ( head hugging temple design fits comfortably under most helmet designs). They also have 8-base wrap around lens curvature which delivers excellent peripheral field of vision, and an open end piece that allows venting and airflow to help keep the lenses from fogging.


The Journey also features Hard Coat Premium Scratch Coating, and 100% UVA & UVB Protection. They also come with a semi-rigid case and adjustable strap.

The last piece I had the chance to review was the Sun Performance scuba diving mask.
The Sun Performance is according to DH very comfortable and fits really nice.
The mask is available in prescription and non-prescription which is really nice for people like me that need prescription glasses at all times.
Due to the weather and the latest tropical storms, we have not been able to fully test the mask as we have not been even in the pool lately ( DH is the scuba guy), so as soon as we have a chance to get in the water I will update the post!

Swingline Stack-and-Shred Automatic Shredder- Review

I do not consider myself a paranoid person or someone that is obsessed with identity theft but I have to say I like to know that the information I throw away is not used to hack my accounts or clean out my bank account. Because of this, we like having a shedder and even more a cross cut shredder, just to make sure whatever information we are destroying, is really being destroyed!
I had someone hacking one of my emails account a while ago and I spent days without access to that account because they changed the passwords and information in my account. That was a reality check……If getting hold of an email account was such a hassle I can only imagine what it would be like with a bank account or a credit card!
I have recently had the chance to try the Swingline Stack-and-Shred Automatic Shredder (EX100-07) From the ACCO brands.
Swingline was founded in 1925 and its known for their Staplers, Shredders, Punches and Trimmers.
Located in the rolling hills northwest of Chicago, Swingline made its reputation over 60 years ago as the first stapler manufacturer to let you pop open the top of the product and drop in the staples. Now with their latest innovation, the Swingline Stack and Shred, there’s a whole new way to shred!
The unit is about 17" high, 12" wide, and 17" deep. The output bin about is 7 gallons (that's around 200 sheets).
The EX100-07 is a cross cut shredder and is designed to hold a stack of about 100 pages in its input tray. It also has a manual feed slot to feed paper individually (up to about 6 sheets). It also features a small slot to feed credit cards. Although it will accept some stapled paper, it will not accept many types of fasteners, so please remove any and all metal or plastic from the paper before shredding it. The unit will shred credit cards, but it is not intended for CD/DVD shredding, so keep that in mind when using the Shredder.
The shedder is meant to pretty much do the job by itself, all you need to do is to stack the pages in the feeder and keep on going about with whatever you need to do. The shedder is probably not the fastest in the market, but again how fast do you need it to be if you are not sitting in front of the unit and feeding the papers to it. As I said, it is not the fastest, but is not the slowest one either. And if you only need to shred a few pages you can always use the manual feeder.

The unit top cover lifts on hinges in order to access the stacker tray. The manual feed slots for paper and credit cards are both on top of the shredder. The buttons to control the options and indicator light are on the top front. The power button is on the rear top of the shredder. The EX100 also features an auto start/shut-off. It has a sleep mode, so it will go into standby mode and wake up after you put another stack of paper in the tray. (I would strongly suggest turning it off and unplugging it if you need to go into it for any reason…. And when not in use. It is better to be safe than sorry and kids can be very curious, so I keep my unit off when not in use.) The unit also features a built in cool-down after about 10 minutes of continuous run time. The cool down time is up to 30 minutes. I’ve had the shredder for a few weeks now, but I haven’t reached the need for the cool down yet.
Usually the shredder gets through a stack in about 5-8 minutes, depending on the paper type and the paper weight. Among the display lights you will find “Door Open/Bin Full", "Cool down", and a light to indicate the unit is in Auto mode. It also features a clear window in the middle of the bin so you can keep track of how full it is.
The shredder is relatively quiet….It is a shredder, so there will be noise but nothing out of the ordinary. The unit comes with a paper liner (more liners can be ordered). It fits well in the tray and still enables to user to see how full it gets when in use.

Last year I waited too long to start looking for the ladybug’s Halloween costume, so I ended up with pretty much whatever was available. This year I am determined not to let that happen again, so I did my homework early and researched some cute costumes for the little bug and I am very happy to report that I already got her a really cute princess dress (that she picked herself ). The costume we picked out was the Child Golden Princess Costume from Anytime Costumes.
The Child Golden Princess Costume is a cute gold tone dress with a really charming design that will make your little lady look like a true princess. The dress features a long skirt and princess cut dress in a bright yellow color and is decorated with golden accents and sequins that contrast with the dress.
The dress also has tulle and a round hoop in the inside to make the dress puffier and help with the princess look. The top is made of a velvety like material that accentuates the top and also makes it more comfortable to wear.
The dress also comes with matching gloves and can be complemented with a wand and crown that is sold separately. I was able to review the crown to match the dress and the result is that my bug looks really cute in the princess dress!
I got the small size for the ladybug which according to their size chart is a 4-6 and it is a bit long for the ladybug, so I am hoping she will grow a couple of inches before Halloween. If not I will just have my mom adjust the length of the dress ( it is good to have a seamstress in the family).
The dress is really cute and retails for only 35.00, but this is not the only option you have available at the Anytime Costume store. So if you are in need of a costume, take a look at their store for an inexpensive and really wide selection!

New dENiZEN Jeans - Review.

As I have said over and over again I am a jeans kind of gal and I am ALWAYS looking for new jeans and brands to try. So when I was given the chance to try a pair of jeans made by the same people that make LEVI’S I was more than happy to check out the brand and the designs.
I was sent the dENiZEN MID RISE BOOT CUT jeans to try. The pants are made of 99 % Cotton, 1 % Elastane and have a very flattering and comfortable fit. I must say that I was very pleased with the way the pants look and feel. The dENiZEN MID RISE BOOT CUT features a five pocket design. My favorite feature on the pants is how very comfortable they are without sacrificing the way they fit.
One of the best features of this brand besides the comfort and really nice fit, is the price tag, as the jeans retail for just 25.00 to 28.00 for the ladies designs and they are available for men and kids also. These jeans are a great option for the going back to school wardrobe and can be found at Target stores.
Keep in mind, that even though they fit really nice, they do give some after using them a few times, so I would almost get a size smaller if you like a tight fit. or try the Totally Shaping Mid-rise which I already saw at the local Target and look AMAZING!

Nutrisystem.......Getting Back in Shape! Week 14

This Nutrisystem Blogger Program week 14  As I mentioned in my last post, I was stuck for a little bit and did not lose any weight for a couple weeks and did a little switch on my diet and basically had the dinners for lunch and lunch for dinner to get my metabolism working the way it was supposed to. I am now very happy to report that the switcheroo did the trick and I was able to lose an extra pound last week which takes me to a total of 11 pounds!
One major improvement I have been able to achieve was to get back on track and also improved my water intake. The boxing classes are suspended this month, but I still try to get some workout and have switched from the treadmill to the elliptical and I have to say that I really enjoy the work out.
I have also been re- reading my mindset makeover from nutrisystem to re-enforce the things I have learned to help me lose weigh tand keep it off! They have a really neat equation to help you see how the whole process works:
• Energy consumed = energy burned →no weight change
• Energy consumed & energy burned →weight goes up
• Energy consumed & energy burned →weight goes down
So basically, weight loss is the process of tipping the energy balance equation in favor of less energy in and more energy out. The degree to which you tip the scale will determine how much weight you'll lose and how fast you'll lose it.
To lose 1 pound in a week, the energy balance equation has to be tipped 3,500 calories. You can do this by moving more, eating less, or a combination of both. …..And I should say it does sound easier than what it really is, but definitely not impossible to do!

I like the new cool gadgets that allows you to take notes and carry a whole world of information in your hands as much as the next gal, but it is also true that I have a very special place in my heart for good old-fashioned paper. For some reason there are some things that I can’t help but prefer to write down on a piece of paper, and that is why you can find at least 5 different notepads, diaries, and agendas scattered all over my place.
I have been looking for a diary/note pad to carry around with me. Something nice and elegant to keep all my important information and notes to myself……A few weeks ago I came across Graphic Image and immediately fell for their 7" Wire-O-Notebook Crocodile Embossed Leather. The first thing I must say about the notebook is that the images in the website do not do it justice. The 7" Wire-O-Notebook
Cayman Leather looks so much nicer and elegant than what you can really appreciate by the pictures…..Don’t get me wrong I obviously liked what I saw, but LOVE it once I received it.
7" Wire-O-Notebook Cayman Leather is available in three different colors and I was very tempted to go with the blue color they offer, but opted for a more classic and traditional dark brown and the result is simply elegant and tasteful. The leather notebook features a spiral insert with 176 lined perforated pages on gold-gilded premium paper and it is about 5-3/8" x 7-3/8" in a Cayman python embossed full-grain Italian leather.
I have to admit that even though I was looking for something for me, I toyed with the possibility to give it to DH, so he can use it in his business meetings….. But I could not bring myself to give it up! I can be very picky, but there is not one single thing I could complaint about this gorgeous refillable notebook except maybe for the price tag….It retails for 88.00, but again quality has a price and even though I am one to look for bargains, I would gladly pay the price on this item. This would make a great present for a business partner, family member and even to yourself. Graphic Image also offers the option to personalize their items and if you are looking for something with a smaller price tag, take a look around, because you can find those too.

Marc Allison Jeans - Review and Giveaway.

I found out about the brand a few weeks ago and you know me and my pursuit of comfortable and stylish jeans. The Marc Allison jeans seem to be right up my alley. Needless to say I was very excited when they agreed to send me a pair of their jeans to try. After a really hard time trying to pick the design I wanted, I decided to go with the Emilia boot cut in medium blue indigo which is a boot cut design and comes in a really dark shade of denim. The Emilia features a bit lighter shade on the thighs and back that gives the pants a little distressed touch.
The fabric is lighter than most of other jeans I have tried (73% supima cotton 27% electrwll-p X-fit) making the pants really comfortable and soft ….You can easily forget you are wearing a pair of jeans, and even thought I am a big fan of comfort, what made me fall in love with the MarcAllison jeans was the fit…They fit me like a glove.
I have not felt or looked this good in a pair of jeans since I got pregnant with the ladybug and that was about five years ago. The pants feel and look amazing and reflect class and style all over them. This is the way designer jeans look and feel and I am hooked up!
The Emilia features five pockets and the company logo embossed on one of the back pockets. I have to say I prefer the logo this way as opposed to the hard yellow tag you find in most jeans. It is a nice and classy touch. They are a little long on me as they are a 34” inseam and since they come in one length, it makes sense they make them long……I am 5’ 2” so most jeans are long on me any ways.

The Emilia Alfo features dark gold stitching that offers a really nice contrast and finishing touch. The Emilia design retails for $193.00 and it is worth every penny. I realize that the price tag might be a little high for some budgets, but I have to add that these are by far the nicest, most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever owned…..And I have owned more than a few, so I highly recommend the MarcAllison jeans and love the Emilia design!
