First Alert is one of America’s most trusted brands in home safety and one of those name that immediately come to mind when looking for Smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, safes, security cameras, doors, fencing, window guards and a lot more. With innovative products like the Tundra Fire Extinguishing Spray, First Alert stays on top of the list when it comes to home safety products.

Whenever I heard the First Alert name Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms were the first things that came to mind, but the reality is that the First Alert product range is a lot wider and extended…… I recently had the chance to try the First Alert Digital Wireless Camera with 7" Display Unit. The camera is very easy to set up. DH was able to set it up in just a few minutes and using the camera is a breeze, so you really do not need to be computer savvy or anything like it to manage the camera system.

The Digital Wireless Camera with 7” Display offers superior video clarity with the Digital Wireless System and 7” LCD Display Screen. A mounting kit for a discrete placement on walls or ceilings is included and something you may want to use depending on your needs. The camera also features an all-weather shield to protect against outdoor elements and one of my favorite features is the wireless receiver that plugs directly into the television to enable monitoring from your TV. The camera also includes LED night vision technology for clear viewing up to 40 feet in the dark, a two GB SD card for recording, built-in audio surveillance for any noises and has a very sensitive motion detector that alerts you with a beep and starts recording as soon as the sensor is triggered. The video display also features a four-channel system that allows you to to add more cameras to your security network ( up to 4) and that can be controlled from the camera video screen that allows you to access the different options for your camera(s). The Digital Wireless Camera with 7” Display also comes with a small remote control. This specific unit comes with only one camera, but you can add more cameras at any time.

The image is really good and the 7” of the display makes it nice and easy to watch, and if you need a bigger display, you always have the TV option. One thing I do not recommend with this camera, is to place it behind a window or glass door as you will get the reflection of the lights in the front of the camera and the image is not going to be good. Other than that, the camera works great even at night in total darkness!
This design is among the wireless cameras offered by First Alert, but if what you are looking for is not a wireless camera, they also offer various designs that are wired. First Alert Digital Wireless Camera with 7" Display Unit retails for 299.99 and it is on sale right now for 269.99.
