Last year I had the chance to try the H17txt with Motospeak Bluetooth headset from Motorola and I loved it! It was enjoyed so much, that DH was the one who kept the unit and has bought at least 2 more (one ended up in the washer and a second one got lost), but he liked the little gadget so much that he keeps buying them!
This year for the Tech Event Motorola has given me the opportunity to try another great Motorola Bluetooth. This time I had the chance to try the Motorola ELITE SLIVER Bluetooth® Headset. The Motorola ELITE SLIVER Bluetooth® Headset features a really modern and attractive design that can be charged inside its protective case….Providing your unit with protection while charging it.

The Motorola ELITE SLIVER Bluetooth® Headset features HD Audio Plus which provides great clarity and richer sound thanks to true wideband audio and CrystalTalk™ dual-mic technology. The unit is super light at 9g; You can’t hardly even tell you have anything on your ear. I have tried the Bluetooth in different scenarios including a computer co- location facility ( they have hundreds of computers working at the same time and huge A/C units to cool off the equipment)…..I received a phone call when I was there, and while I couldn’t even hear the phone ring, the headset warned me that I had a call and I was actually able to have a conversation while I was in the facility….Very impressive!

The ELITE SLIVER also features EASY NFC PAIRING: JUST TAP AWAY…This function is only available for certain phones, ( my Samsung Galaxy S is not one of them), but what this feature allows you to do is pair your headphone and your Bluetooth by simply tapping them together! For phones like mine that do not support this function, pairing is still a breeze and can be done in a matter of seconds.

One feature I just love is the voice dialer that you can set up on your phone and use through your headset ….Great for when you are on the go and do not want to get distracted looking for a phone and trying to dial while driving. Just by pressing the call button (big button on the bottom of the unit), you can make a voice call, redial a call, end a call and answer a second incoming call.

As I mentioned before, some of the features on this Bluetooth unit are phone/ network dependent like the ability to stream music on your phone through the headset.

The ELITE SLIVER offers you the option of pairing two devices….2 phones or even a phone and a tablet, depending on your needs. The unit stays connected to your phone up to 300 feet away…When out of range a voice prompt will let you know the headphone is disconnected. The older Bluetooth headsets only go 10 meters or 30 feet away, so this is a huge improvement.

Another great feature on the headphone is the caller ID….If the persons who is calling you is in the rolodex of your phone, the headphone will let you know you have a call from number……Each time you turn on the unit, a voice prompt will let you know how much talk time you have available…..It usually tells you more than 5 hours of talk time…It does not detail exact time. I turn the headset off and place it back in the case when not in use and it stays charged for a few days.

My husband tends to live on his phone and uses the Motorola Bluetooth exclusively because of its excellent noise and echo cancellation features. He said that this new headset is now his favorite.

This is certainly a great unit. There is only one thing I that I would change on the headset and it is the way it sits on your ear….In my opinion it feels a little loose, of course the fact that I wear glasses does not help as the unit kind of sits on top of your ear….I must add that it has never fallen off and also that it is more comfortable than the other Motorola Bluetooth I tried. The Motorola ELITE SLIVER Bluetooth Headset retails for 129.99.
