We came across the company months ago when looking for streaming TV systems and DH and I were immediately interested in the company. DH had been doing some research and we loved what we learned about the company as we use Pandora and Netflix pretty much every day.

DH installed the unit ( the original device) in our family room. Installation was easy and pain free, instructions are easy to follow and the unit works wired or wireless. The price tag is really inexpensive for the services they offer you. After trying the Roku, we purchased a second unit for the ladybug’s room. Needless to say we love Roku. And I was really excited to learn that they have come up with the second generation Roku, the Roku 2. One of the nice new features offered by the Roku 2 is a memory card slot so that you can play your videos or pictures from your SD card simply by plugging it into your Roku 2.

Connectivity to your TV can be accomplished either by HDMI or RCA cables insuring connectivity for both new and old style TV sets. Roku 2 comes in three different designs. I received the Roku XS which features 300+ channels with movies, shows, music, & more that can be streamed through the device, FREE movie service from Crackle with hundreds of Hollywood movies on demand, Netflix and Pandora are also available through the Roku 2 device.

The Roku 2 also features built-in wireless (Wi-Fi b/g/n). If you are like us and have more than one device, you can always stop watching a movie with one device and resume watching it on another device, at least with Netflix. The Roku 2 XS Plays high-definition video at about (720p), and plays the best HD video at about (1080p).

One really neat and new feature on this device is the ability to play games with a motion control for games and the Angry Birds full edition game is included with this device. Think the style of motion controller that you have seen on the Wii. I have to say that the enhanced remote works great and the game has become the ladybug’s favorite….It is not quite the same to be able to play angry birds on mommy’s iPad as it is playing it on the large screen TV!

The Roku 2 XS also features an Ethernet port for wired Internet connection, and a USB port for music, videos and photos, the unit is really complete and offers a whole lot of for only 99.99 and free shipping. The Roku is one of those gadgets that you love immediately and one that we use on a daily basis in my house hold.
