Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler -Review and Giveaway

As you might know I live in a condo and storage space has been my mayor struggle ever since we moved here. I am always looking for products to help me organize my home….I have also been thinking for quite a while now to start recycling…..Actually my daughter asked me to get her to be a “recycler”, but space have not really allowed me to do so until now.

 A couple of weeks ago I was offered the opportunity to review the new Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler. The Hidden Recycler is a container that attaches to the inside of a cabinet door to gather recyclables and keep them out of sight so you can keep your kitchen clean while helping the environment.

The recycler is very easy to set up…. It took me about one minute to get it ready. It features a hinged lid that attaches to the cabinet doors with over the door hooks or screws….I opted for the hooks. Because of the configuration of my cabinets the recycler does not fit on the inside, but I decided to attach it to the outside and while I lose the hiding feature, I still get the rest of the benefits on the recycler.

 The recycler that is pretty much a top frame with an attachable bag is made from 65% post-consumer resin and is machine washable. It is a really good addition to my kitchen as it can fit a lot more cans and plastic bottle than I have anticipated. The 5 gallon bag holds about 36 uncrushed cans and is large enough to fit 1 gallon milk jugs which is great because I have to go all the way to the first floor to do my recycling so I can go a couple of weeks now without having to do the trip to the recycling bins. The bag is also made from 65% post-consumer resin, for easy machine washable, but so far all I have ever needed to do is spot clean it with wipes and that works really good.

The bag features a comfortable handle for transport so you do not need to detach anything but the bag when taking out your recyclables. The Hidden Recycler retails for 17.95 at the Rubbermaid online store.
