We do a lot of cooking from scratch in our home and most of the time, we make sure to cook enough food for more than one day when we cook, so I depend a lot on food containers. I am sure you can agree with me that finding the correct food containers can be tricky….We go through a lot of them, so I am always looking for new options and brands.

A few weeks ago I came across http://noplastic.ca. The store has a great selection of storage containers….No plastic products are sold in their store….The extensive use of plastics has left its footprint on our bodies and the environment. We have opted to get rid of all our plastic containers and look for healthier and environmentally friendly options.

I was given the option to try one of the No Plastic.ca Airtight Watertight Stainless Steel Food Storage Containers. The airtight is available in a selection of sizes so, you can get the correct size for your needs starting from as small as 8cm and going all the way up to 26 cm. ( 9 different sizes) The Airtight Watertight Stainless Steel Food Storage Containers are very convenient and are made from very high grade, 316 (18/10) food grade stainless steel, and the lid has a silicone seal.

 The container is very light weight ….Keep in mind that while the container itself is dishwasher safe, the lid is not, so you need to hand wash the lids on the containers.

The container has three locks that helps keep the stored food fresh….I made my container my coffee container and it works great for that purpose as it keeps the coffee perfectly fresh and with the same aroma it had when I first stored the coffee…..While I have not tried it for this purpose yet, I found in their website that you can actually use this containers in the freezer which is awesome. All you need to do is to just write down notes and dates on it. These containers are really a great alternative to plastic containers….Good for you, good for the environment!
