Born 2 Impress Everything Home Event- D- Link Cloud Camera 5000 (DCS-5222L) Review and Giveaway

D-Link is an award-winning designer, developer and manufacturer of networking, broadband, digital electronics, voice, data and video communications solutions for the digital home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO), Small to Medium Business (SMB), and Workgroup to Enterprise environments. Innovative products are always on top of my list and I am always interested in the new products in the market.

Movies and music are as interesting to me as Home Network cameras and D- Link has both products in their catalog, including the D-Link remote viewing day and night surveillance camera that I have reviewed previously for the company.

I also recently reviewed their MovieNite Plus streaming device. In this opportunity I bring you another interesting product from the D-Link catalog the Cloud Camera 5000, Pan/Tilt HD Network Camera. The DCS-5222L .

The new Cloud Camera 5000 (DCS-5222L) is a versatile surveillance solution for a home or small office that offers pan/tilt capabilities. The camera features automatic day/night viewing, and comes with a remote control. In addition the camera is equipped with a slot for a microSD card that allows you to record and play back what the camera is viewing.

You can view your camera from different devices and D- Link offers Free iPad®, iPhone® and Android™ apps- to monitor your home from anywhere, at any time using mydlink™ Cloud Services. If you already have a myDlink account set up all you need to do is add the new camera to your account. Setting up the DCS-5222L can be done in a few easy to follow steps that you are guided through when you insert the disk that is included with your camera.

Inside the box you will find everything you need to set up and install your camera (if you are installing the camera on a wall, you will need a Philips head screw driver). The camera also features Pan/Tilt and digital zoom, 720p resolution for the best image quality, and view up to 15 ft in darkness with IR LEDs.

The camera has a really nice range and the audio is also pretty good. I certainly like being able to Pan/Tilt and digital zoom with the camera which can be done with the remote control that comes with your unit and also from the computer or any of capable devices…I must add that with my experience, the remote worked best with the computer and the iPad.

You can control audio, and brightness also from the remote software and not only that, you can also take snap shots and save them ( you can see a couple of them on this post). Please note that in order for the camera to work with the remote you need to point it to the front of the camera where you see the LED light and power light that indicates that the camera is on.

You can set up the motion detection on the camera and have it notify you whenever the motion detection is activated. The camera can be connected to the internet using Ethernet cable or wireless and either way you choose, the camera is very easy to set up. It took me under one minute to have the camera out of the box and running, so it is truly user friendly and using the different options for viewing and recording is also very easy to do.

The camera also has night vision that …You can actually set up your camera to day, night view or simply set it up to auto (which is how I would recommend) so the camera can go from day to night view by itself. This is really a great thing to have for parents on the go, or people that want to keep an eye on what is going on while they are away from the home or office. The D-Link Cloud Camera 5000 (DCS-5222L) has a retail price of 299.99 and it is an awesome, easy to install Surveillance solution!
