I love reading and I used to do it quite often…That was before I had my daughter….Went back to work, had a blog and a house to take care.
Now days, my free time for reading is very limited and that is one big reason I usually do not do book reviews…I have found that it is hard for me to find the time to disconnect and relax to read some….A few weeks ago I was asked by author Victoria Simcox if I would be interested in reviewing her book The Magic Warble…I took a quick peak to know that this was one book I would find the time to read as I love fantasy / adventure.
About the author:
Victoria was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, to an
Austrian immigrant mother, and a Dutch immigrant father. She now lives in
Western Washington with her husband, Russ and their three children, Toby,
Kristina, and William. Her other family members are a Chihuahua, named Pipsy
and two cats, named Frodo and Fritz. Besides being an author, Victoria is a home-schooling
mother of twelve years and an elementary school art teacher of eleven years. In
her spare time, Victoria enjoys managing her two older children's Celtic band.
She also loves writing, reading, painting watercolors, hiking, good movies, and
just simply hanging out with her family and friends.
The book starts relating young Kristina Kingsly’s life…Kristina that is often picked on and often feels like a lot teenagers …. Out of place and like she does not fit in.. but everything changes and normal is no more when Kristina receives a very special Christmas present that turns her life around takes her to places she could only imagine.
Kristina is magically transported to the land of Bernovem, home of dwarfs, gnomes, fairies, talking animals, and the evil Queen Sentiz….A journey of adventures, takes Kristina to find new and magical friends …Kristina “the chosen one” is set to go on a magical journey to free the Bermovem from the evil Queen Sentiz.
The book is really engaging and the different situations young Kristina finds along the way kept me going for more and finding the time to escape to my room with book in hand. The author does a really good job at keeping the interest on all that is going on with Kristina and the friends and the challenges she encounters on the way to her final destination.
Easy to read, I found the Magic Warble to a great way to relax while letting your imagination take off with Kristina to free Bernoverm! The Magic Warble is available in Paperback for 16.95 and the Kindle version is available for only 2.99.
